Product Description
Shut off the outside world with MDR-NC6 noise canceling headphones. Ambient sound can be reduced over 10dB at 300Hz, which means you'll hear more music, and less plane/train/bus noise. Noise canceling headphones are great for work, traveling, or even when you're trying to sleep in a loud place. The MDR-NC6 have a slim swivel folding design, making them more compact for storage. Includes plug adapter to connect directly to a stereo or dual jack of in-flight music services.
Amazon.com Product Description
Small enough to keep with you at all times and ideal for achieving peace and quiet in planes, trains, buses, and cars, Sony's MDR-NC6 noise-canceling over-ear headphones reduce perceived outside noise by more than 70 percent (up to 10 dB at 300 Hz) so you can hear musical nuances against a quieter background.
The headphones' noise-canceling circuit senses outside noise using tiny, built-in microphones and sends an equal-but-opposite canceling signal to the headphone drivers, effectively blocking solid-state (continuous) noise from 40 to 1,500 Hz. It's especially effective on noises like air-conditioning systems, freeway rumble, and airplane engines (from a passenger's perspective).
The switchable noise-canceling circuitry runs for approximately 30 hours on a single AAA alkaline battery. When noise canceling is off, the headphones continue to function for standard music listening (and with slightly better sound quality). The headphones' neodymium-magnet diaphragms deliver powerful sound.
The headphones and their swiveling earcups fold for easy storage, and a special supplied adapter facilitates use of the headphones with an airplane's audio system.
What's in the Box
Headphones, a carry pouch, an in-flight adapter, and a user's manual.

Great for the price.......2007-09-25
Due the price of the Sony product vs. Bose I went with the Sony to see if noise cancelling headphones were worth it. For the price these work very well. I have used them on a number of flights and I am very pleased with the performance. The included two prong adapter is also very handy. I have listened to Bose head phones and they do seem to cancel better but for the money these work just fine. Five stars!!
right for the price.......2007-09-15
for cheap noise cancelling headphones, they're great. but i'm a commuter and bought them having read "fold for easy storage". it's a lie. they don't fold at all.
they're no boss noise cancelation, but definitely make a difference (even if you can only tell when you take them off).
the battery has a really long life, but the switch is also in a place where it can easily get turned on/off in a bag.
A step above conventional headphones.......2007-09-13
This is my first pair of noise-canceling headphones, and I chose this model because I've always liked Sony headphones, and the price was great. I am currently deployed in Baghdad, Iraq, and there is a LOT of ambient noise which forced me to crank up the volume on my Logitech headphones. The drone of helicopters, armored vehicles, Humvees, diesel generators, and even the air conditioner, prompted a solution. I was amazed - the moment you turn them on, there is a brief pause as the unit counters the background noise, which the listener hears as a quick "deadening" of one's surroundings. It is similar to walking into a soundproofed room. The volume is automatically reduced accordingly, and as a result, the clarity of what you are listening to is increased dramatically. I use this with my XBOX 360, and the audio coming from games, movies, and music is much more dynamic. Conventional headphones cannot compare - once you try these, you'll surely be impressed. This is a good product for first-timers, or for the non-audiophile who can do without the frills of more expensive units.
One note: noise-canceling headphones DO NOT cancel the entire range of frequencies, or perform this to 100%. It functions around 80-90%. I am still able to hear conversations and most high-pitched sounds, though notably diminished. View the frequency-range for the noise-canceling function before purchasing. Your needs may differ from mine.
Does the job - Kinda.......2007-09-10
It kinda does the job but don't have your expectations too high. There is that annoying hissing background noise there as well.
Sony NC6.......2007-09-09
The price is good, the performance is okay as it can not cancel louder noises. The only poor quality on this product is the ear cover, it is not comfortable at all. You will get tired of wearing it over just 30 minutes.

Very Convenient and High quality.......2007-07-18
That's it. I live with this on my ear when expecting call or on hold. I prefer the clarity to any phone in the house. Also I can be on the computer making notes as needed during business calls with both hands free. The quality is totally excellent.
THE BOMB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.......2007-07-03
I LOVE this headset. Awesome, the bomb!! What can I say other than BUY ONE!!!!
Plantronics Wireless headset.......2007-04-11
This product is very good - we have tried another wireless headset (GN Netcom) which was hollow sounding and had static. The plantronics headset is a much better product, in addition to be cheaper. I would recommend the Plantronics headset to anyone.
Plantronics CS50/HL10 BUNDLE ( 66664-01 ).......2007-04-11
Great product!
works well, no issues.
Thanks, P.
Awesome, be sure to get the lifter.......2007-04-01
I spend about 6 to 8 hours every day on the phone. I never realized how wonderful it would be to have a wireless headset. I love it. I'm so glad I got this headset, b/c now I can talk on the phone, make copies and pick up a fax. I was able to walk about 50 to 60 yards from my desk, which is as far as I need to walk, so it may go farther.
If you spend a ton of time on the phone, then try this out. You won't be disappointed. Note: it appears as though they've improved the ear pieces, b/c the ones I received were comfortable.
Again - be sure to get the lifter or you'll be disappointed.

It's designed and engineered to exacting standards for reliability and outstanding performance. Depend on Uniden, the World's Largest Manufacturer of Cordless Phones.
Amazon.com Review
Uniden's EXP9750 is a basic 900 MHz cordless phone and digital answering machine combo that doesn't have a lot of frills but also doesn't cost a lot. We were most impressed with the answering machine, which has features that some other phones in this category lack, such as a time and day stamp. Although it can only record about 15 minutes of audio, the machine easily records conversations and stores memos that roommates and family members can play back when they get home. Using a PIN number, you can access messages when you're on the road. The unit can also be used as a room monitor, so you can hear what your kids (or the babysitter) is up to while you are away.
The handset isn't too shabby, either. It delivers good sound quality and a respectable range. It's possible to store 10 speed-dial numbers in the handset's memory; three "one-touch priority" keys on the bottom act as shortcuts for the speed-dial numbers assigned to the "1," "2," and "3" keys. The phone operates on a range of 40 channels, and there's a button included to manually change channels if conversations are a little fuzzy. You can mount the base unit either horizontally or vertically. While the base does not include a keypad, it does offer a speakerphone. If you don't use caller ID or any of the other services that require an advanced phone, the EXP7950 should meet your needs nicely. --T. Byrl Baker
Pros:
- Answering machine has some nice features
- Phone clarity and range are good for a unit in this price range
Cons:
- Can't make calls from the base unit's speakerphone
- The "1-touch priority" keys are basically worthless
Amazon.com Product Description
The Uniden EXA7950 uses 900 MHz technology for long range and quality voice communication. The built-in answering machine stores up to 15 minutes of messages on a digital memory system, so there is no need for tapes and there are no moving parts. The unit has full remote access capabilities, so you can access and listen to your messages when you're away from home. The speakerphone on the base station permits hands-free conversation and is ideal for conference calling. The speed dialer can store up to 10 numbers, so you can easily access and call your close friends and family. You can also save space by mounting the base station on a wall. The ni-cad battery offers seven hours of talk time.

Low Volume Handset, Won't Hold Charge, Poor Sound Quality AM.......2005-10-01
The handset is WAY too quiet and will not keep a charge. Both the outgoing and incoming messages are of poor sound quality. Don't even consider purchasing this product no matter the price.
Worked great for us.......2005-07-21
My sister originally purchased this phone years ago. She fot a new one with the caller-id on the phone from her registry. So she gave this one to us. We have had this phone for 4 years now! In that time, it has been dropped over a dozen times, and has only had one battery replacement. We did have a problem with the charger, but found that if the phone was flipped dial side-up, it charged perfectly. (we figured it out... the little green light that comes on when the phone is charging wouldn't come on when the button side faced down, but since it charges either way, when flipped up-right, it charges great) Considering it is 5+ years old, definately a great purchase for the price!
Pretty Good System.......2004-12-06
I really don't really like to rate items that I don't want to give 5 stars to. After all, Mom always told me, "If you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all." I feel I should tell you a little about this phone though. There are definite good and bad points. I've had this phone for a while and it's seen the best of days and the worst.
My biggest complaint about this phone is the handset's battery. I actually almost threw this phone out after the second battery died. For some reason, however, I didn't. I spent the next year using a Panasonic that completely kicked the bucket. I plugged the Uniden back in figuring that 5 minutes of battery was better in case of an emergency than nothing at all. After the full charge, the phone was back to normal. Something happened to the Uniden's battery during its resting period that revamped it! I now have two batteries for the Uniden at home and when one goes, I put it quietly away and use the other battery until that dies. By that time, the battery that I put away a couple months ago is now ready to go again. Yes it sounds tedious, but it's alot less expensive than buying new batteries all the time or buying a new phone. The batteries aren't lasting as long as they used to, but I'll always keep one around for just in case purposes.
The answering system is as good as it gets. I have never lost a message and my voice always sounds crisp and clear. I put holiday music on the system along with my outgoing message for about six weeks every year and I always get compliments. Yes, I like to beat my last year's message every year, but still, if the system didn't work as well as it did, it wouldn't sound as good as it does.
The only other thing that I can say about this is that it's unfortunate that there's no speaker phone on the handset. That, however is my own personal preference.
All in all, this is a good phone for the money. And now that you know about the battery life cycle, feel comfortable giving it a try.
Answering Machine Leaves Something to be Desired.......2003-07-11
We've had this phone for about a year and haven't been thrilled. The most disappointing is the answering machine. The outgoing message is not very clear and the incoming are scratchy and not clear either. Just this last week it finally kicked the bucket. I thought it was just the battery but we've replaced it and it still is not working. I'm searching for a replacement now, won't be buying another one of these though.
Fab electronics.......2002-06-09
My mother buys a combo cordless/ answering machine atleast twice a year and Ive had this one for almost two years. Ive dropped it numerous times, lost it, spilled things on it, etc. and it still works. Overall Id say Im very pleased and the price was awesome.

TDK D120 audio cassettes.......2007-08-14
TDK D120 audio cassettes provide two hours of recording time. This is especially useful for those who wish to record radio talk shows for replay at a more convenient time.
Getting hard to find.......2007-08-14
Thank you for making these extra long cassette tapes available. They're getting harder and harder to find in retail stores. TDK makes a great product, the price was right, and an official United States Government official personally delivered them to my door! What could be better?
A Little Something About Cassettes..........2007-01-18
Cassettes offer crappy quality of sound and limited durability, both of which are in a best case scenerio. However, cassettes are also an entirely different, interesting, extra opportunity. I'll explain: The cassette tape allows you to be a little more hands on and do it yourself. You can physically cut and paste the tape to edit the old fashioned way--an experience that any audio-recording enthusiast should have (this can also be done with VHS tape and old reel-to-reels).
For Cassette tapes, brand and length dictate all you need with quality. The longer the tape length, the more tape in the case. This means the possibility of more problems when editing, or sometimes even just while playing the tape. As for brands, this one (tdk) and Maxell are reliable. There may be a better brand but not one that is well-known, they do work better than thrift store tapes and off-brands. As for types of tapes(like hi bias, or CD quality)--watch yourself. They may, and should have slight differences that may make it better for certain recordings(ex: hi bias), however, the differences are hardly noticeable, especially with the ever persistent possibilities of background noise, feedback, and tape hiss. My advice: never get one of those "special" types of cassetes--they are just more expensive and pretty much the same, and anyway, if you want purely quality avoid cassettes altogether.
TDK makes an excellent cassette tape but there's room for improvement..........2007-01-10
TDK manufactures excellent 120 minute cassette tapes for all purpose general recording. As long as you have the right kind of equipment, these tapes record the sounds of record albums, radio shows, CD-Rs, people talking and more. These tapes have 120 minutes worth of blank recording tapes on them so there are 60 blank minutes for recording on each side. This is useful when recording one hour talk shows, for example.
If you pay the Amazon price of $8.90 for the ten-pack you spend only 89 cents per tape and that's very inexpensive. The tapes allow you hours upon hours of listening enjoyment; and they take up very little room so they're easy to carry around with you.
Unfortunately, these tapes cannot produce the same quality recording reproduction as a digitalized copy would give you. This means that if, hypothetically, you were to copy a CD-R onto another CD-R instead of a TDK cassette tape, the quality of the sound on the CD-R copy would be sharper and clearer with less background noise than a TDK cassette tape or any other brand of cassette tape could give you. Moreover, cassette tapes can break if not handled with care. These shortcomings frustrate me and therefore I will have to take off one star to make this a four star review.
The tapes have small pieces of plastic on the narrow top of each cassette which you can punch out easily so that accidental recording over an existing recording is impossible. If you do wish to record over an original recording then you can merely place a small amount of regular tape over the hole. The cassette tape is now ready to record a fresh recording.
Overall, TDK makes a great choice when you want reliable cassette tapes to record music, the radio, people talking or anything you wish to record. I have used this brand for decades and I cannot think of any major complaints. I highly recommend TDK normal bias 120 minute cassette tapes for you to use when you need to record something onto a tape.
