Awesome sound reproduction........2007-09-20
I purchased these after looking into the difference between these and the Sony mdr7506, There is none except these do not have the gold plated jacks. They sound great! I have many other sets of headphones and these are by far the best. I thought the others where great until I heard stuff through the v6s. You will hear things in your music you never heard before. They block out noise and are very comfortable on my big head, yet they fold down for easy travel.

Theres are the best headphones I've ever had. I need to replace the cups around this time, but they produce the most amazing sound, and block out noise without fancy noise-canceling technology. The coiling cord allows you to walk away from your computer as well as having your mp3 player far away such as in your backpack.
This is an assured 100% satisfaction product. The only investment you'll have to make is 6-15 dollars to replace the ear cups, but this is minor compared to the amazing quality you get!

i've been using a mdr-7506 (Sony Pro MDR-7506 Headphones) at work for a long time, and knowing that both headphones have similar specifications, i've recently decided to get a mdr-v6 for personal use, (as far as i know they share the same sound drivers, same metal and plastic casings and so they have a similar frequency response) I didn't have the chance to accomplish an in deep comparison test yet, but after a short listening session of a single track, to my ears both performed almost identical.
What you'll get from these phones is a high quality full spectrum reproduction of your music, the way it was intended in the recording studio. Some may find the frequency response a tad "flat" but that's what they're built for (i.e. "studio monitor") and i believe that's the way it should be. I don't like artificially boosted sound at all, but don't get me wrong, mdr-v6 is excellent at bass reproduction, and handles any given low frequency :)
I highly recommend this headphones. With this price tag, i suppose you cannot get better headphones for the price.
very good quality/sound for price.......2007-09-12
Listening to my old music with these headphones sounds like listening to new songs. I finally hear the small variations and imperfections in vocals and instruments that makes the music come alive. I don't give them five stars because at "loud" volume, the bass sometimes doesn't quite hit as hard as I'd like. They feel great, often times I forget they are on my head at all. These are the first "nice" pair of headphones I have owned. I am a mechanical engineer, and I chose these over others for their good reviews, price, and looks.

I compared these to the Bose Triport which go for an average of $50 more retail and I have to say, these headphones have impressive sound for the price. Another plus is these are surprisingly very comfortable to wear.
The voice coil is long and unobtrusive, and the carrying case is a very convenient plus.

Works good But..........2002-04-11
This is a really good card, easy to install, and is very reliable. The only bad thing is that the Wire connected to the card is fragil, and will break off eventually. I read about this problem before buying, but I figured, if Im extra careful, it wont happen to me.. but it does, and will... Ive had it for over a year now, and havent had to replace it yet, but any day now I will.. a slight bump to my laptop and the cord falls out.. Other than that problem, I recomend this card, if your not always on the go with your laptop... Z
Netgear FA-410 Network Card for Notebook PCs.......2001-07-04
What a headache, after hours of pulling my hair out, the dongles were bad. I purchaced two of these cards and both dongles were defective right out of the box. It seems this is a common problem with the Netgear PCMCIA cards. Sure they were under warranty but who can afford the down time of constant dongle replacement. Avoid this item and get a 3COM product, they never fail.
Windows ME.......2001-07-01
If you are going to try to install this on the Windows ME operating system - beware of several bugs. You may try to download the fix on their website, but don't count on that working either. Even their other instructions on their website didn't help. I ended up buying another brand and it installed with no problems at all.

Throught the course of 8 months I have gone through FOUR of these because the dongle that connects the CAT-5 cable to the actual card always breaks where it connects to the card. If your laptop is sitting in one place all the time, it will probably be fine, but if you plan on having your laptop move around while you are connected, then forget it. The only reason I stayed with this model was because Staples would replace it for free each time it broke, since it was usually 2 months apart. Other than that, the card itself worked superbly. Fast clean connection when the dongle was intact.

This is a great product. I just got it in today and within five minutes it's installed and on the network. I reccomend buying this product and other netgear products before even thinking about buying Linksys products. I bought a linksys PCMPC100 for this laptop and it turned out to be faulty. I sent it back for another and it was bad as well. Now I have this card and it works like a charm.

For a C-note, this thing's not worth it..........2006-08-18
SO far, this thing is hit or miss. There are many times when I turn it on to make a call, and I can't hear a dial tone. It seems like I need to push the button a certain way. Other times I'll answer a call, and people on the other hand can me, but I can't hear them. For the dough, it's of fairly cheap material. When it works, it's great...I just hope I can learn the ideosynchrocies of this unit soon...Good luck!
Good, but you can't see the keypad.......2006-07-07
I ordered this from Amazon's "Beach Audio" marketplace on a Friday, it shipped Monday, and I received it Wednesday. I opened the box and at first I thought, "Hey, did they send me a USED phone? The numbers have rubbed off the keypad!" Looked closer and discovered that some designer numnut decided that grey ink on dark grey keys would be a pleasing feature. Hello?? Fire that guy, Plantronics.
Aside from not being able to see the numbers, the phone works quite well. In addition to business calls here at home, I do teleconferencing via a digital internet phone connection, and listeners say my voice is very clear. The coolest thing is the noise cancellation, though. Even though the yard crew was outside my window with the leaf blower, no one could hear it. But I do still need to hit Mute if I'm going to yell at the dog.
Great little phone, BUT...........2006-03-19
I love this little phone! I needed a hands-free phone so I could talk on the phone and still be doing things around the house at the same time and this phone certainly meets that need. The headset is light and pretty comfortable. The phone unit itself is tiny and can clip on or slip into your pocket. The reception is pretty crisp and I use it all the time. Here's the downside: The range is not nearly as much as claimed - at least not in my area. I would estimate that I cannot go more than 60-70 feet from the base before there is some static or worse (i.e. lost connection). I specifically wanted to be able to walk outside in my yard. Maybe it is problematic because of my location - I am not sure. But, that is a bit disappointing. Caller ID would have been an awesome feature, too!! Other than that, it is an awesome little phone and I don't regret buying it. I can carry on a conversation and be cooking or working on various projects at the same time and that is a GREAT time-saver!

My husband and I like gadgets, so we typically try many, but are really only impressed with a very few. And this CT10 phone has definitely impressed us! It's small, light, easy to set up, easy to use. I found the headset very comfortable, volume and clarity were great on both the sending and receiving end. The only mildly annoying feature is the beeping while the phone is muted. Fortunately, most major teleconferencing services (AT&T, MeetingPlace, etc.) have keystrokes you can enter to mute your phone (#5, *6, etc.) so I've used these to avoid the beeping. I would definitely buy this phone again and I've recommended it to several friends and family members who love to talk on the phone and would rather not have to hold a handset all the time. Great job, Plantronics!!!
Bad product from a good company.......2006-01-23
As others have observed, this is a really sub-par product from a company with a good reputation.
I've had this phone about a year. One battery failed within months. The phone itself failed after about 10 months. Plantronics replaced both without hassle, though I paid to send the defective phone back.
Others have mentioned the beeping-on-mute issue (what WERE they thinking?) and poor battery life -- both true and very annoying. There are other design issues that make this an unacceptable product, in my view, e.g., it's easy to hurt your fingers removing and installing batteries.
If you are looking for a 900 Mhz phone, my recommendation is to look elsewhere.

What is that horrible noise?.......2007-02-02
First, the earphones are HORRIBLE. It sounds like some really really cheap attempts to create sound, however unless you are completely deaf, you WILL notice the difference between the sound of these versus everything else in the world. I can't emphasize enough how completely horrible and unmanagable these headphones are.
The mic is almost as bad also. You have to either put the thing in your mouth for people to hear you, or you have to turn up ALL the settings you may have on your system (hopefully just one, in control panel>volume control), and THEN they say they can hear you whispering even with the mic almost 2 inches from your lips.
I can honestly say, this is the worst piece of garbage technology that I have ever purchased in my life. I feel dumber, for just trying it and working with it to see if it was truly the headphones being this junky.

Good headset, great sound, have had no problems using this for Skype. The wires are long enough that I can plug it into my desktop whose mic jack is in the back while the earphone jack is in the front. Good price too.

A great headset. I have only used it a couple of times, but the mic and speaker sound is great. The only problem that I have had is that the swivels on the earpieces bring the mic a little too close to my face sometimes, and I have to keep adjusting them. Once I get that figured out, I am sure that they will work great. I really have no large complaints about them. Recommended.
