You get conveniences, too, like multiroom (Zone 2) outputs with independent source switching, so you can listen to a DVD in the living room while someone else is listening to a CD in the kitchen. Cinema Studio EX modes offer greater apparent distance from listener to screen and a full array of 10 additional virtual surround speakers.

Sound Field Link applies the last-selected sound field to an input whenever you select the input. For example, if you select STADIUM for the CD input, change to a different input, then return to CD, the receiver will automatically apply the STADIUM sound field.

Other features include a convenient onscreen display, a pair of switched rear-panel AC power outlets for additional components, a gold-plated .25-inch headphone jack, bass and treble tone controls, and discrete circuit devices for the best possible sound from the receiver's amplifiers.

I only have a few complaints

- doesn't have DVD optical input option even with the selectable inputs
- Doesn't have remote controlled a/b speaker switch
- the tv onscreen menu act a little slow some times
- remote controller doesn't display the custom names entered into the reciever

As for the few people who have had problems, I had the same problems with it cutting in and out, but later figured out it was because I had plugged my subwoofer into the reciever (so when I turned the reciever of, the woofer would turn off too), and whenever the subwoofer required a lot of power the reciever wouldn't have enough for itself and the woofer and would cut out for a second. I'd assume this would be the case for anyone that uses this power port for other equipment that uses a lot of power.

Other than that (if you consider that a problem), I have never had any problems with this product. I absolutely love it, and when bought with the "Sony SA-VE367T 7.1-Channel Surround Speaker System" you'll be blown away. There are only a few products that currently support 7.1 surround sound, but when you get one that does, you'll be amazed. Even if you are just using 5.1 surround sound products, you'll feel like you are there (playing war games with this is so real that you might need diapers).

Subwoofer Output is popping.......2007-01-02

4 months old and off to the Service center. The sub shut off so I used my back up sub. Same problem. Major pops out the sub channel. I would stay away from this one. When it worked it sounded real good.

We purchased this receiver from Amazon on December 28, 2005 for $329, no tax and no shipping. We researched it first and this was by far the best price online. If Amazon offers this again in that price range and you need one, you will get your money's worth. We have it hooked up to nothing but Sony products, TV and DVD player; my husband thought it was easy to do. The surround sound from this receiver is terrific. We previously had a Denon receiver that cost three times more, was difficult to hook up, mechanically unsound, and never produced the sound quality that the Sony one does.

Great receiver when you have a remote control that works...took my remote control to a warranty service center Feb 7th....Here it is now July 10th....Been backordered months....Don,t know if i would buy another Sony Home Theater System...Very disappointed in service after the sale....horrible!!!!!!!!

Nice Look, Horrible Player........2004-10-23

I was looking for a new mp3/cd player because my other one broke, So I bought this one because it was cheap and looked nice.

Positives:

- Nice Look
- Can play mp3/cds
- Slim
- ** Has backlit screen, so you can see in the dark

Now for the many negatives

Negatives:

- THERE IS NO FREAKIN HOLD BUTTON, this means, if you have this in your backpack or something, it will turn on and waste batteries.

- THE LOADING takes atleast 40 seconds on MP3 CDS. Sometimes, the songs won't work also so you have to wait like 5 minutes before any of the songs can play.

- IT FREEZES. This mother freezes so many times. If are playing a song and exit out of the menu, it freezes. Then you have to load the cd again ( which takes another 45 seconds ).

- The CD OPEN BUTTON is really EASY TO mistakingly hit and open the cd player. It's very big. Plus if you open the cd player,
it LOADS UP AGAIN!

- One of the worst things besides the NO HOLD BUTTON is the battery life span. It uses 3 TRIPLE A batteries. Not only does the triple A battery not last long but they are more expensive. I put NEW batteries in this CD PLAYER on MONDAY. I listened to it say 30 minutes everyday on the bus. On friday, the batteries were dead. That's like 2 1/2 hours of battery life.

Conclusion:

I'm being nice giving it 2 stars. This is the worst CD player i've ever had. Even my first CD player I ever bought is better than this junk. The batteries price will add up making this cheap player's price equal to a good one. So save your money and buy a good MP3 CD Player

I've had this cd player for about 1 year now, and I love it, and belive me i'm not one for buying cheap products, I always look for the best, and this had everything I wanted and more, at an unbelivable price. So if your trying to decide between this player and another one, just make up your mind and pick this one, because like I said i've had it for 1 year now and i've had absolutley no problems with it at all, it has great sound and looks, and lots of features, so if you can't make up your mind, let me make it up for you.........BUY IT!!

My CD player broke, and i wanted to get a new one, so i chose this. The ESP-Extreme anti skip works very well, so i can even run with it. Battery runs out FAST when anti skip is on though. The Cd player does scratch easily though

So many problems with this thing...

I bought this specifically to play background music in clubs between band sets. Great idea uh, 150+ songs, put it on shuffle play and it can go for days!!! WRONG!

Lets count the problems: Occasional looooong delays between songs, a few songs just cut off and jump to the next (after a LONG pause), It usually shuts down by itself within 30-45 minutes, meaning I have to start it up again. It can take 30-60 seconds to boot up and start playing the first song, and then you have to go into preferences each time and turn shuffle play on. All of these things happen while using the power adapter. Problems grow when trying to run it on batteries.

Sounds like a great idea, and using the power adapter, I would expect to have solid, effortless solution to running music for an entire evening. NO WAY! This thing usually can't play for more than 15-20 minutes before having a problem.

If it were FREE it wouldn't be worth the effort

Great sound and battery life! Just get some rechargeable batteries and you are off to the races. I put a lot more thought into this $60 investment than I should have but ended up happy. It is a very good product...

I guess you get what you pay for and this item only cost me around $35. I didn't really need one of those translators with hundreds of languages, so the fact that this one only had 8 was fine with me. The problem is the tranlations from English into Chinese. It does give me some (not as many as I'd wanted) but the biggest problem is it doesn't give the tone mark. So I'm not sure how to pronounce it in Chinese and the tone makes a BIG difference in the meaning! So, it's not that useful for me, other than, I could get an English word displayed in Pinyin and ask a Chinese person how it's pronounced. That wasn't what I wanted, but I waited too long to return it while I was in the States and now am back in China. Oh well. Maybe I'll take a trip to Italy from here and then it'll be useful!

The ViewSonic E771 is a 17-inch monitor (16 inches viewable) that's compatible with both Mac and PC platforms. Well suited for home and office, you'll have it out of the box and up and running in five minutes or less. The tilt/swivel base easily affixes to the bottom of the monitor, allowing the viewing angle to be adjusted for optimum ease. (As with most monitors of this size and resolution, sitting at an 18-inch distance from the screen is recommended for the best viewing conditions.)

The operation of this monitor is fairly standard, and for the most part will only require turning the unit on or off. However, a menu button displays onscreen controls to alter and finesse brightness, contrast, vertical and horizontal position and size, and moiré and degauss, as well as allowing corrections to any geometric distortion and the color temperature. I bought three Viewsonic monitors over the past three years(PS790, GS790-2, and E771), and man, what a huge mistake! They are all dead now while ten-year old Dell monitors are still kicking.

Don't expect it to last long, if you buy one. I will never ever buy any Viewsonic brand in my life time !

Reliable monitor from a reliable company........2003-01-05

The ViewSonic E771 has been with me through college using two different computer systems. As a Computer Science major, it has been through a lot of use. The picture is crisp, colorful, and bright.

At about two years into its life, it started malfunctioning. The monitor was caught in an odd resolution. I called ViewSonic, and without any hassle they had me send it in. They sent me back a new one in no time, even though I had no receipts or original packaging.

As a basic 17 inch monitor with no frills or extras, the E771 does a great job. I definitely recommend this monitor along with any ViewSonic monitor. ViewSonic is a very trustworthy company that stands behind its products.

Great value, but not the best monitor out there.......2000-09-20

This monitor is great for day to day usage of just internet browsing and checking email and such. It goes for a great price and is easy to set up with a nice picture. I did have a problem with it before and had to return it to Viewsonic, however I was given a replacement monitor at a Viewsonic location in my city for no charge right on the spot without having to pay shipping charges back and forth to California or such. If you're into gaming I'd reccomend spending the extra bucks for a better monitor however this is just great value if you can't afford anything better.

LOOKS GOOD TO ME!.......2000-07-26

I recommend this monitor for anyone that can't decide what to get because of it's well-rounded features. Personally, I am more concerned about image quality than size. When I looked at the slew of monitors that were offered at the store, this one seemed to have the clearest looking images. It's also not too big or too small, so it's a decent "first monitor" as well. I work at an engineering firm, and we have used Viewsonic monitors religiously with little or no problems. The USB hub is extremely useful if you have the right drivers for it. It eliminates some of the wire cluttering in the back of the pc, plus you don't have to reach back there as much anymore. The on-screen menu is easier to use than most TV menu's. This product has been running over a year for now me with no problems. Hope that says something.

I chose this monitor because of the brand and its price (I got a huge discount). Really cannot compare to my old Sony vivitron 15" (.26 dpi) Monitor but,hey, the price is much better and I get a bigger view.

Here are things I do not like:

The monitor weight is lighter than the others but it is quite bulky, because of thick edges around the screen, consumed more desk area.

The screen is not really flat, so the display area is a little distort (not really square). This has been compensated by adding a lot of buttons for you to adjust (i.e. pincushion, pinbalance). It is however cannot be adjusted to a perfect square.

It took me a while to figured out how the attach the base to the monitor, there is no explanation in the manual.

My full screen DVD movies is no longer playing "full screen", I think because of the display area, leaving some black edges. Picture quality is ok, better than watching a 14" TV.

The snooze bar doesn't work with the nap timer. Otherwise, this is just an average piece of junk alarm clock.

Cheap Price, Cheap Quality.......2007-03-18

This Elgin remake of the original Timex 3400T is nothing like the original. (I like the original so much I was hoping to buy another.) Sadly, the quality of this clock is very, very poor. This new design of the 3400T is completely different (worse) -- they should have changed the part number.

I liked the ability to quickly and quietly set a "nap" time in the original. No more! The updated version is much more difficult to set and it beeps loudly every time you press a button.

I am very disappointed. I'd gladly pay three times the price to get a 3400T of the original Timex design.

Modern cool.......2007-01-06

I have used this clock for a few months now.Its great.Its the little things like the ease of setting the nap timer or using the snooze.Some guy said this clock gains time.Thats a little true after 5 Months it gained 3 minutes.Not a problem.

Bought this despite mixed reviews from previous customers. As mentioned by others it gains approximately 3-4 min in a week. Also the Indiglo display isnt that great. It is very hard to see the time display during the day. Bottomline.. Always look through customer reviews and think hard and long if a product you are considering buying has bad reviews.

Update: Display is all messed up after just one battery change. Stay away from this product

does what I want.......2006-02-23

I wanted to set a timer for certain events. This does exactly what I want very well, at a very fair price. After reading the reviews, I had expected it to gain or lose minutes each day, which would be ok with me, but have had it for a month or so and it keeps the correct time. Pleasant design, works fine, I am pleased.
