Amazon.com Product Description
Sony's TC-WE475 dual-well cassette player/recorder offers high quality and plenty of great features, including dual auto-reverse playback. When coupled with the deck's relay play feature, dual auto-reverse means you can enjoy up to three hours of continuous music from two 90-minute cassettes. One tape well plays, the other records. You can set the recording input level using a dedicated control or rely on Sony's auto level-setting feature to choose the most appropriate level for your tape (this works best on dynamically limited material such as pop music). Choose from normal- and high-speed dubbing: normal speed for higher fidelity, high speed for greater convenience.
Sony has built the deck with high-density Permalloy tape heads for long life. For noise reduction, the TC-WE475 is outfitted with both Dolby B, the encoding standard used on most prerecorded cassettes, and Dolby C, which buys you another 10 to 20 dB or so of noise reduction beyond that offered by Dolby B (around 10 dB). Use Dolby when recording and, if a tape has been recorded using Dolby, when listening.
Two other technologies specifically heighten the quality of your recordings. During loud level peaks, Dolby HX Pro dynamically adjusts the bias signal (a supersonic and basically sacrificial tone your deck uses to push distortion out of the audible range), effectively letting you record "hotter"--that is, louder on tape--without compressing the high-frequencies of your program material. Secondly, an onboard MPX filter blocks the 19 kHz multiplex pilot tone of FM stereo broadcasts for proper Dolby noise-reduction tracking when you record off the air.
Other features include full-logic, feather-touch transport controls and twin electronic tape counters (one for each deck), which come in handy when you're making a compilation from a variety of source tapes. If you have a Sony audio/video receiver, you can operate the deck from your receiver's remote control.

TCWE475 Sony Dual Cassette Player/Recorder.......2007-09-23
Sound quality is good on the transfers from cassette to cassette. A bit difficult to use in the beginning, but gets easier as one keeps using the features. Editing is not the greatest asset of this unit, since there are split second "dropouts" at the splices. But for my purposes, it is good enough. Another reason why I purchased this item is that my old Sony dual cassette player (a 20 year old model) is slowly giving up and the cost of repairs would exceed buying a new machine.
Sony TCW475 Dual Cassette Player/Recorder.......2007-09-03
I purchased this unit to be able to play my old tapes, and it replaced a very similar Sony unit that gave me many years of service. I am very pleased with the unit, and expect it to also operate for many years. The only problem - the first one arrived defective, and had to be replaced.
Sony TCWE475.......2007-08-16
The tape deck arrived in perfect shape and works as described, the output distortion is low and has lots of features, in fact more than I require.
CASSETTE PLAYER RECORDER.......2007-07-04
I'M VERY HAPPY WITH THIS PRODUCT. THE AUDIO QUALITY IS GREAT. I'M PUTTING MY CASSETTE COLLECTION
ON C.D. THEY SOUND GREAT.
Good stuff.......2007-05-15
I purchased this product in order to connect through a Numark turntable that I purchased earlier through Amazon. Using the Audacity software that came with the turntable I have already transferred 73 LP's and cassettes directly to my computer without first having to create a CD. Everything works fine.

Customer Reviews:
Not Dependable.......2007-08-23
I bought this about two years ago for critical files. I had a 256 MB Kingston Data Traveler but wanted something with more memory. I opted for this as the price was good and it had reasonably good reviews.
Well, after having it one year it started going bad. In addition, it doesn't work in some USB ports on a consistent basis. Unfortunately, I bought a 4 GIG Transcend, which is still working but it's not dependable. I've only had it about a year. On the other hand, the old Kingston is as solid and dependable as it ever was. And I've owned it about four years.
Bottom line: If you want to store mission critical files, don't buy this. Invest more money and get a Kingston Traveler. I have another flash drive but haven't owned it long enough to recommend it yet. I can, however, recommend the Kingston.
But stay away from Transcend unless you just want something cheap for files you can afford to lose and if you want a throw-away.
Great Look.......2007-05-25
I love this product. I always had the problem of loosing the cap on my flash drives, but this I don't have to worry about it. The slide lock protects the usb port when using the flash drive. I recomend this product for anybody that is looking for a fast and easy to use flash drive.
Built cheap........2007-04-11
This drive works fine as far as flash memory goes. And it beats losing the cap because there is none. I have three SanDisk Titanium drives. Two which are now broken and cannot be used. SanDisk has replaced two of the drives a total of three times. Now they say I'm breaking them and won't replace them. The fact is, I am not breaking them. They just don't hold up. I travel from jobsite office to jobsite office. I plug the drive into a computer about 20 times a week. They hold up for about three months then they either physically break at the male part of the drive or the slide mechanism wears out and the slide won't lock in the out position. SO I gave up on SanDisk and am now trying the Transend drive. I have had it a few weeks and it is already looking like it's not going to hold up. The materials and assembly appear and feel cheap, so I would be surprised if it lasts more than a month or two. I back up the data about three times a week just in case. If you are an occasional user or just leave the drive plugged into the machine most of time it's worth the buy. But if you use it how it's meant to be...as a travel drive...then find a more durable drive.
Inexpensive with a good transfer rate........2007-01-08
I considered a number of USB flash drives before selecting the Transcend JetFlash 1GB USB Flash Drive - TS1GJF110. I selected it based on transfer speed and low cost. I have had no troubles with the drive. It has a pretty blue LED. I am completely satisfied with this purchase.
It Works.......2007-01-06
Fine product, gets the job done. I just don't like how the port slides in and out of the case and doesn't have a cover to protect it. Something could accidentally get spilled down in there or in my case, my 2 year old figured out how it works and when she gets a hold of it she makes it go in and out. Easily damaged in the hands of the wrong person.

RCA RP2488 "Slim Design" Portable CD/MP3 Player with SmarTrax
Amazon.com Product Description
The metallic silver RCA RP2488 portable CD player combines eye-catching slim styling--it's less than an inch thick!--and advanced features like support for MP3, mp3-PRO, and Windows Media Audio formats, as well as high-powered SmartTrax navigation. It even includes MusicMatch MP3 recording software to get you started burning your own MP3 CDs with up to 10 hours of music. Up to an incredible 720 seconds of esp-Xtreme skip protection with mp3-PRO files (and an impressive 180 seconds for audio CDs) makes this CD player virtually skip-free in most conditions and a great choice for joggers and runners.
The CD player's SmartTrax navigation technology helps you quickly access specific songs or playlists among the hundreds of tracks on an MP3/WMA-encoded CD-R/CD-RW. Using a library of computer-generated identification tags to identify digital audio files by title, artist, album, year, genre, and track number, the SmartTrax file-management system can "read" song data from your recordable CDs, letting you view song data and create playlists at the touch of a button. SmartTrax can read the song data even before the song is played. A four-line dot-matrix display shows SmartTrax data and allows 30-track/folder programmability.
Other playback features include Digital Bass Boost Surround for extra low-end slam and added musical depth, three preset equalization settings, and a hold switch to prevent unintended interruptions in playback (and to save batteries by negating playback when the player is stopped). The unit operates for approximately 20 hours on three AAA batteries, either alkalines or rechargeables (no batteries included), and a handy inline remote control lets you travel in style with all major operational functions at your fingertips.
What's in the Box
CD player, wired remote control, 6.7V car DC power adapter, headphones (e.clipz clip-on headphones), carry strap, and MusicMatch software.
Customer Reviews:
Read below before you invest (and see what's better).......2005-06-09
Quantity THREE size AAA batteries power this RCA CD/MP3 player.
The count (3) of batteries required is enough to make one search
elsewhere for a long-lived portable player. Getting two AAA's is
difficult enough when you're stranded. Where to scrounge around
for the essential THIRD one? You'll either be buying a second
blister pack of two cells (ntiul you return to base, where you
providentially would have STOCKPILED AAA's on sale...), or you'll
'make do' with a lame third battery from the original set of 3.
The other drwaback besides the odd number (3) of necessary cells
is the lack of P-O-W-E-R for sustained performance. From a AA you
can get considerably more stored electricity than from a AAA. Why
settle for a slim player that isn't BULKY but runs dry fast?
Before you jump ship from RCA to other pickings, DO please recall
that there exist other RCA models which offer both CD, MP3, and a
unique feature (exclusive to some RCA-brand players, but not all)
The feature to look for is called SmartTrax (a trademark of RCA).
With the SmartTrax key or control button you can navigate without
much effort or brain-power through the available MP3 selections.
Beware: some newer-generation RCA combo CD/MP3 players no longer
include the SmartTrax jog key. Do not assume that all RCA's have
SmartTrax included. Happy hunting within the RCA universe. Enjoy.
Very good, a few minor problems.......2005-06-05
I bought this player and ripped my entire CD collection to 96kbps mp3PRO-format discs. I chose this over something like an RCA Lyra player since the cost was substantially less, and justifies the inconvenience of having many CD's rather than all music stored on a single hard drive.
The good:
- Supports mp3PRO format.
- Large back-lit video display.
- mp3 and mp3PRO discs are read quickly upon start-up.
- Wired remote allows you to "lock" the buttons on the player, put the player in a case without worrying about the buttons being hit as you move, hang the remote out of the case, and control the player from the remote.
- Comes with power adaptor that will allow you save your batteries, and re-charge your batteries (if you buy re-chargables, not supplied with unit) when the unit is off.
- Has various intro, repeat, and shuffle modes.
- Has bass boost, surround sound, and "normal" output modes, all of which I use depending upon the sound source.
- When fast-forwarding through a song, your hear the song being played "quickly", allowing you to stop where you want easily.
- Unit appears to be quality-built; buttons "feel" like they'll last a long time.
- Excellent shock-protection; I have NOT yet had the unit skip on me no matter how much I move the unit around.
- Has separate remote and line-out jacks
- I'm happy with the mp3PRO sound quality
The bad:
- Once in a while, the unit will just stop playing and must be turned off/on to re-set it. Almost never with fresh batteries, more frequently as the batteries discharge.
- Switching between songs is slow when playing an mp3/mp3PRO disc.
- (reference what I said above about locking the unit and using the remote) If you turn the unit off when it's locked, you can't re-start it from the remote. You must take it from its case, un-lock it, start it playing again, re-lock it, and put it back in the case.
Features I wish it had (not sure if any other units do, just things it doesn't have that I wish it did)
- Toggle between time elapsed/time remaining (it shows only time elapsed)
- Immediately jump to next folder (have to press "next song" button repeatedly to do this)
Summary: not perfect, but still recommended
almost perfect cd player.......2004-05-07
i thought it was a really good cd player.the skip protection is good. but finding the mp3 files are hard to find by folder is hard but just search through the songs are easy enough. the music match software is hard to work with(the thing i hated was that if your walking with it, you can't put the hold button on while playing like you can in sony

muddy sound, opaque search interface.......2007-07-29
I am unimpressed with this item. The sound quality is very low, though it is better when you use the earpiece. It is very difficult to decipher what you are hearing in any language- I am familiar with four that are included in this dictionary's package. When you are searching for a word you often find interesting words as a result, but not always the one you are looking for. When you look up a word that has more than one interpretation there is no indication of which meaning the word you are given is in accord with.
Lingo TR-2203 - Speed of play back of word or phrase.......2007-07-03
As a translator this unit is very good. When trying to listen to the spoken phrase or word it is spoken too fast to understand. Volume control is acceptable. Recommend an update to slow the phrase or word when played.
Handy traveling companion.......2007-05-16
This really came in handy in Spain and then again in Italy when I was trying to explain something to a local. It's fairly easy to use. I like the talking feature as it helps with pronunciation.
Highly functional, limited database.......2006-11-18
Speaking feature is quite clear and can be used in a pinch in any language. Basic phrases are well maintained and accurate. Direct translation is fine for common words, but dictionary is not exhaustive, especially if translating from a language into english (it works better english to x). All in all a very useful device and quite portable and durable. Recommended for those who are not already proficient in some of the languages.

Product Description
The new STR-DE897/S Audio/Video Receiver features a 32-bit Dolby Digital, Dolby Pro Logic and dts Decoder, a Digital Cinema Sound System, 30 Station Presets and a 32-bit DSP with 13 Acoustic Environments. Keep your components connected with the STR-DE897/S.
Amazon.com Product Description
Sony's amazingly powerful and affordable STR-DE897 delivers rich, clear sound for your movies and music--from the latest surround-sound movie formats to the latest high-resolution audio sources. The receiver pumps out 110 watts per channel across 7 main channels (left, right, center, left/right mid surround, and left/right rear surround) and has a dedicated subwoofer output for an eighth (the ".1" low-frequency effects channel). You get everything from Dolby Digital EX and DTS ES/Neo:6 surround decoding to Dolby Pro Logic II processing (creating 5.1 channels from 2) and 5.1/7.1-channel analog inputs to handle music from Super Audio CD (SACD) and DVD-Audio.
You get conveniences, too, like multi-room outputs that come with independent source switching, so you can listen to a DVD in the living room while someone else is listening to a CD in the kitchen. The supplied Remote Commander remote control comes preprogrammed for a range of devices, and it also learns new commands and has the ability to perform limited macro commands.
The receiver includes an FM/AM tuner with 30 station presets (20 FM, 10 AM) and a host of video inputs--5 composite-video, 3 S-video, and 2 component-video--to simplify switching between components and your television. The component-video inputs accommodate wide-bandwidth (80 MHz) high-definition signals and work well with 480p signals such as those from progressive-scan DVD players, while composite-video inputs are upconverted to S-video quality. A set of front-panel audio/video inputs includes an optical digital-audio input and facilitates spontaneous hookups with camcorders, gaming consoles, MP3 players, and minidisc player/recorders.
There's even a phono input for your once or future turntable--yes, they still make 'em and, yes, your vinyl will sound as good or better than ever. The unit's 3 stereo and 1 set of multichannel analog audio inputs simplify hookup of, for instance, a cassette deck, a VCR, and a high-resolution audio device that decodes formats like SACD and DVD-Audio. A total of 6 assignable digital-audio inputs (4 optical and 2 coaxial) accept bitstream feeds from DVD players, CD players, and other digital devices, while a single optical digital-audio out channels sound to a CD or minidisc recorder.
Digital Cinema Sound System is a group of exclusive Sony algorithms (the receiver offers 13 total) that represent a total re-thinking of home theater sound based on careful measurements of movie-production dubbing stages in Hollywood. Cinema Studio EX modes offer greater apparent distance from listener to screen and a full array of 10 additional virtual surround speakers.
Sound Field Link applies the last-selected sound field to an input whenever you select the input. For example, if you select STADIUM for the CD input, change to a different input, then return to CD, the receiver will automatically apply the STADIUM sound field.
Finally, Auto Channel Grouping helps integrate 5.1- and 6.1-channel programs with your 7.1-channel system. When a 5.1-channel mix is present, Auto Channel Grouping will route the discrete information for surround left/right directly to surround left/right outputs while adding a new surround back left/right channel. When 6.1-channel mix is detected, Auto Channel Grouping will route the discrete information for surround left/right directly to surround left/right output while the sixth channel is duplicated by both surround back channels (left/right).
What's in the Box

Customer Reviews:
Superb!.......2005-06-19
I purchased this receiver with Sony's SA-VE367T 7.1 speaker system. Circuit City offered a package deal and a great price. I had been wanting to upgrade to 7.1 but wasn't willing to spend thousands my first go-round. Biggest tip: BUY THE BEST QUALITY A/V CABLES YOU CAN AFFORD!! I went with Monster's products and the difference was truly amazing. I wasn't a believer until after getting everything wired up and connected. It does take some time getting all the parameters (such as speaker distance, etc.) set up, but it is time well spent. I have a 52" widescreen DLP HD tv /w component and DVI inputs. The receiver can do all the switching save for the DVI inputs. Not a big deal as only my DVD/SACD player is connected this way, so the audio routes to the receiver and the video directly to the tv. However my HD digital cable and Hi-Fi VCR all connect through the unit. The receiver even upconverts RCA type video to a higher quality S-video signal. Unless I'm heading out to a newer built theater complex, I prefer to watch movies at home as the sound is much superior to older theaters. My neighbor has a new BOSE system that he spent almost 3 grand on; I can't hear any significant sound difference and I'm pretty picky. The remote works great and it can learn the commands of all your other remotes if the codes aren't pre-loaded. You just have to remember what buttons you assigned to what functions if there isn't a similar name! I'm now considering a touch screen remote that you can download different screens and codes for all your remotes and you configure it with your pc. Again, a great product for the money; just pony up the $$ for high quality cables!
NEAT!!!.......2005-05-27
This is my 3 Sony receiver and they have all worked flawlessly. This one replaces a lower rung Sony 5.1 receiver. This is my first in the silver color and it is stunning, with the front having a brushed aluminum look. It compliments all the other components that seem to have turned silver overnight. This receiver has tons of inputs for everything. You can plug in SACD capable dvd players and send analog output to another receiver and independently switch output to it from another source you have plugged into it.
I especially like the front optical input- I have a x-box connected up to play jukebox music from it. It would be a hassle to fuss around in the back of the unit to do this with my rack system. I have not yet tried the 7.1 sound but the 5.1 is stunning-this receiver deserves good speaker wire- 16-gauge at least-and good speakers. I have not tried switching video signals yet into it, but this unit is caplable of using all types-composite-S-video-component.
Found the setup and programming to be fairly easy-but the instruction manual written by Sony is poorly written-just like on my previous Sony receiver-Wake up-Sony!!! The unit is fairly heavy and deep-I hope that equates with power and dependability.
For the price this thing is a winner!!!
Great Value.......2005-05-13
This is a great unit for the price.
The set up went fairly smoothly. I have to admit that I am not 100% sure that the "sound" is optimized to my listening area, but that is probably due to my own (in)abilities as an audio technician.
The receiver has plenty of power for the 13'x17' room in which it is installed.
The remote is easy to use and I was able to program it to operate all of my other gear except the Comcast HDTV/DVR Cable box.
I "auditioned" similiarly priced Onkyo and Yamaha receivers. At this price point, the Sony was the only receiver with 7.1 capabilities. The Onkyo and Yamaha were good, but the Sony's extra channel was a deciding factor for me.
Very good receiver for the money.......2004-07-31
About 14 years ago I bought a Sony receiver for about 6-0-0 bucks, no small amount back then. It had all kinds of options, and aside from a few small problems, the receiver continues to work fine. However, I had to tradeup to a new receiver because the old one just didn't have enough inputs to deal with electronic life today (cable TV box, TiVo, Xbox, XM radio, DVD, VCR) So, I bought the STR-DE897 for 4-0-0 bucks. I certainly got a better deal 14 years later -- the DE897 has all the inputs I need and it has the capability of just about any kind of speaker setup.
I like that the DE897 has different sound field setups, which makes it versatile for various speaker setups or sound sources. However, I still haven't figured out exactly how to use all of the sound field setups. I managed to setup the system to use the Sony 7.1 speaker system and it just remains on that setting, which is fine.
The only significant complaint I have with the DE897 is that Sony must have changed to a new set of remote control codes with the newer receiver models. None of the Sony remotes you can buy off the shelf have a code that will work with this Sony receiver. While I can probably use the "learning" feature of the off-the-shelf Sony remotes -- I shouldn't have to do something like that between two Sony products. Nothing in the receiver's documentation makes you aware that your old Sony remotes just won't operate the receiver. Of course, the receiver's remote will operate my other (older) Sony devices.
The sound the receiver produces is very good and clear. I am not a perfectionist audiophile, so whatever failings this receiver has, I can't hear them. I just like to have good, solid sound delivered to my 7.1 surround speakers and the DE897 delivers.

Customer Reviews:
Sooo misleading...........2000-10-12
I thought the MOH400 was a cool way to show people how important I am (or at least make them think that). The description makes the device sound as a God send to add professional sounding recordings to your phone when you put people on hold. What they DIDN'T tell you was that your computer MUST be on 24x7 in order for everything to work correctly and that you MUST run the software continuously (or at least when you are on the phone and want to put someone on hold). Other than that it works like a charm. Just not at all what I expected....

Customer Reviews:
Love this camera!.......2007-07-18
I've had this camera for a couple of years and I absolutely love it! I have not had any trouble with it. I have found that rechargeable AA batteries last ALOT longer than alkaline. I am impressed with the picture quality and ease of use. I'd buy it again!
excellent camera.......2007-06-20
i have had this camera for nearly one year now. i've had problems with lousy shutters in digital cameras before, but this one works great. sometimes there is an error on the flash feature of this camera, but other than that, it's perfect. takes fantastic photos in nearly all light conditions. i even bought a waterproof case for it and it takes fantastic pictures underwater and when wet (when there's beaded water on the outside of casing lens window).
great for the price too. overall i am very satisfied with this product and would purchase it over again-- which i have! i dropped the uncased camera in a lake last month and replaced it with one exactly like it. The new one works beautifully.
Cybershoot DSCS90.......2007-03-23
I've been a Sony fan as long as I remember, but this product is the worst Sony ever made.
Picture qulity is bad, it won't take a high capacity memory stick, it's big and heavy.
I'm looking for a diffrent camara now and this one is going to be my little girl toy.
Good Camera........2007-02-17
I like this camera for its colors, beautiful outdoor pictures, lots of options and settings. I've been using it for about a year with no major problems. The minor problems I've encountered with it are:
1. About 20% of pictures come out blurry, especially when zoomed in.
2. A lot of blurry pictures when using self timer option - even with a tripod.
3. Red eye problem is very common in low light conditions even with the eye reduction option.
3. The fact that you have to set time and date every time you open a camera to change a battery or memory card is very annoying.
Overall ist's a good camera and worth the price.
Great Camera Great Price.......2007-01-29
the camera is easy to use, takes nice photos which print really well. It shows much more detail than a regular camera would. I would recommend adding a memory stick for extra memory.
