I love my laptop, it has not given me any problems in over a year. I go to college and find myself constantly throwing it into my backpack and carrying it around. It has withstood countless drops, kicks and has served me as a pillow many a night. I would highly reccomend this computer to anyone as it is sturdy, dependable, fast and has an outstanding battery life.

Fair Notebook Bad Customer Support.......2004-12-29

It is an OK computer. It feel flimsy compared to my old HP. When my AC adapter went bad customer support would not just send me a new one in exchange for the broken one. I had to send in the notebook and the AC adapter. Major inconvenience having to wait plus I didn't like the idea of sending a flimsy computer through the mail. I will not buy from toshsiba again because of their customer service. If you are considering a toshsiba then you may want to buy their premium warranty package if want to be treated well.

if it shows up as only 480, that means you have a 32mb integated video card. This is something called shared memory.

A nice laptop, but the sound is below fair.
Also it is advertised as having 512MB memory but at least my config. (from amaz) came with 480MB. Also the HD is 74G instead of the advertised 80G.

I bought this computer for my daughter for Christmas and had to try it first. I bought Toshiba after shopping around and checking Consumer Reports. I have had a Compaq and Sony previously This computer has all most will need, is the right size and price. It is being discounted as it seems to be discontinued, but it is current enough for most. I love this machine.

Nice phone overall, but not much volume to the earpiece. I'd rate it a 5 otherwise out of five, but if you can't hear who's calling sometimes, a three is the best I'd give it....

The phones worked just fine, very easy to use, no interferences with our wi-fi. We bought them less than two years ago, and around two months ago both phones needed a new battery, first the one we use the most and then about three or four days later, the other one, which we don't use much. After replacing the batteries, the display started to fail, one line at a time. Now it's to the point where one of the phone's display is completely unreadable, and the other one is only somewhat readable in the first line. We were pretty happy with them, and we have given them good use, but it just seems like they are somehow programmed to last a couple of years.

This is amazing. I got on Amazon to see if I could buy some additional remote bases for this phone and immediately see the reviews about the same issues I have and have been putting up with because I think we get used to electronic products working poorly. I have the same battery issue and the handset in the main base does get very warm. Nevermind additional handsets, I am just going to buy a different phone. Sounds like a consumer class action is in order!

See now... I have loved this phone for the year that I have had it. After the year I noticed battery charging issues. At first I assumed it was because every year batteries need to be changed. Well after coming on here I discovered that a lot of reviewers were posting the same issue that I was experiencing. The main unit base overheats to the point of making you pull back from it. That handset can be charged overnight, then when you pick it up you realize that there was a Warning: Check Battery error displaying and all that charging was rendered useless.

I really love how everything else is but after discovering this I guess I have to switch from this company. I don't really feel like wasting 20 bucks on batteries considering that the main base runs so hot. I think it may actually be what others are complaining about. And yessss! you have to pop out the battery and the phone will work for a bit. SUCKY! VTECH... you suck... recall this product.

I had this set for a couple of years. With the features they had, I thought it was great. Then the onset of battery and charging issues just like others have reported. After switching out the batteries to new rechargable ones twice, I also concluded it was the charging unit....in BOTH HANDSETS. I always thought VTEK was a decent brand but if I could give this product less than one star, I would. Don't Waste Your Money.

Why Can't The Bigger Companies Make A Phone This Good?.......2006-09-11

We were in the market for a phone that had 5.8GHz, had buttons 1 through 9, had #, had *, had a button for Mute, and had a button for redial. Any other buttons would reduce the value in our eyes, because we didn't want to go through eight gazillion menus just to mute a call.

This phone keeps it simple, and works perfectly. I was a little concerned about the VTech name, because I was used to Panasonic and Uniden. The VTech phone was far superior to my experiences with Uniden, and it was a bit better than even Panasonic.

I highly recommend this phone if you want perfect performance and a user-friendly phone at a great price point.

Optics and Resolution
With its a 1.3-megapixel CCD sensor, the DSC-U10 captures images up to 1,280 x 960 pixels--perfect for posting to the Web or sending to friends and family via e-mail. The DSC-U10 offers a fixed-focus 5mm/f2.8 lens (or a 33mm equivalent in a 35mm camera) that has no optical or digital zoom capability. It features a 3-area multipoint autofocus and four-step manual focus with automacro.

Storage and Transfer
Images are stored on Memory Sticks, and an 8 MB card is included, which will store approximately 23 images. Images can be downloaded to either a Mac or PC via USB storage-class connectivity, which means it can be connected to any USB-based Windows Me/2000/XP and Mac OS 8.6 or later computer without installing any software.

Movie Mode
In addition to taking still photos, the DSC-U10 can also record MPEG movie clips (without audio) of up to 15 seconds. The limited resolution of your movies guarantees that this feature won't replace your camcorder, but it's perfect for when you just want to capture a quick movie and e-mail it to a friend or relative.

This little camera was my very first digital camera. It was so cool, because I could take it everywhere. I always had room for it.

The only thing that could make it better is if it had zoom.

I have a better camera than this one. It's a Sony too, and it has 3X zoom, a bigger LCD screen, sound MPG's, more megapixels, and just generally all the bells and whistles that my 2-year-old miniature Sony doesn't have.
And yet I still take most of my pictures on the DSCU10. Why? Because it's always in my jacket pocket and it's always ready. It's a full-feature camera and it's smaller than a Snickers bar. Better still, the design is brilliantly intuitive. Slide open the cover, press the button. That's it! You can even get your Mom to use it. And while the batteries take a while to charge, it will hold the charge for weeks or even months while you carry it around. And oddly enough, it's much easier to download from than my newer, more expensive Sony. Just plug in the USB, the camera turns itself on and it starts downloading.
Unquestionably it has weaknesses. The postage stamp LCD viewscreen is of questionable utility; it's good enough for framing shots but it's impossible to see any detail, especially in daylight. The picture quality is merely adequate (it would be wise to opt for the higher-rez DSCU20 if possible). The autofocus can be unreliable and the flash is weak.
But it's always there for you when your bigger, better camera is at home on the shelf. Anyone who's serious about photography should have one of these (or the DSCU20) as a second camera.
One final note: I don't know if this is a plus or minus, but this camera seems to impress everyone who sees it. It really looks like some sort of spy camera and on one occasion I was actually accused of being a private detective by a woman who wandered into one of my shots. Even now that it's getting a little long in the tooth, people still want to look at it to see if it's a real camera, and they're still impressed when they see that it is.

got the pink one as a birthday gift, i fell in love with it cos of the color and its size. I hung it around my neck (it came with a matching grey string) wherever I went, and it never failed to grab attention from people. Its feature packed and the images are fantastic. But its a pity that it doesnt have any optical zoom.
