I've used a Latitude C640 for three years at work and it's been very reliable. Great screen resolution. The only thing I don't like about it is the keyboard layout. Touch typists probably will not like the fact that the PgUp, PgDn, Home, End, Insert, and Delete keys all occupy the top right-hand area of the keyboard, forcing you to look at the keys every time you want to hit one of these.

Good laptop for the right purpose.......2006-06-30

The c600 is an ideal laptop for student use and getting the basics done right. I don't reccomend it for a hard core gamer, seeing it has an 8 meg video card and 1 ghz processor. But for the internet, word processing and internet games, it's an ok performer. It basically does what you need with nothing fancy. Mine seems to be holding up as relable. This model is a great model if you come short on cash, but I wouldn't pay more than $250.

This may be an antique by many standards, but for a person who doesn't have a lot of money (like me), this laptop will do.I am a student and I have a very good computor at home but needed something for on the go.Amazon is off there rocker for charging this much money for this model. I just bought the same exact thing at a bidding site. I got the laptop, working battery 3 swappable drives, power cord and case for under $300!,including the shipping.

i agree with everyone else. this is a worthless out of date, Used, Remanufactured, antique piece of garbage. And Amazon should be ashamed of themselves for even puting the buy now words next to it. My dell laptop cost me around 500 and its brand new, has way more to offer then that.
Amazon obviously thinks people are willing to pay that price for it and they obviously want you to pay that price because after all...

At the time of writing, Dell was offering an Inspiron 1300 through their Small Business unit about $650 with the following specs:

Pentium M 735 (1.7GHz/400MHz FSB), Windows XP Home, 14.1" WXGA display, 512mb DDR2 SDRAM, 40GB HDD, CD-RW/DVD Combo, Wifi.

Not an astounding machine by any stretch, but illustrative at exposing just how misleading, disingenuous, and paltry this "75%" deal is. For shame, Amazon -- this ad is *intended* to mislead people that may not be technically savvy, who would think they're getting a great deal. This is an hostile advertising/marketing tactic, and you should be ashamed of yourselves.

To use this line of reasoning, you could advertise a 3" color television for 90% off, and make it available for $75 -- because, as we all know, they cost over $1100 (inflation adjusted) in 1948.

laptop cooling pad.......2007-09-17

i bought 2 of these one for a Toshiba Satellite and the other for a fujitsu. they work great. the fans are relatively quiet with the on off switch if needed. 4 usb ports are a great help.
i paid more for a cooler pad last year that was pure trash.
this is well built, sturdy and i would say works with whatever laptop you have, don't be put off by the description that it's for DELL i nearly was.

would i buy another if i had to?

Keeps the Laptop cool......BUT.......2007-09-16

The product is plastic (like everything else these days)and it keeps my laptops cool but my main reason for buys this cooler was the built in USB hub. It is advertised as a USB 2.0 hub. On both my laptop a Toshiba and a HP the hub did not report as 2.0 and did not work as 2.0. It did work well for accessories that did not require 2.0. (Mice, keyboards). As long as you put it concave side up, the laptop cooler will be silent. It's rather impressive. I tested one with a friend's laptop (MAC) of which the shell of it bent and warped due to high heat. This is a TITANIUM laptop shell. Well it kept it really cool when we ran the laptop all day. My friend was impressed!

Total waste of money.......2007-08-06

This laptop cooling pad was terrible. It does cool my laptop, but it is pretty loud. It's really flimsy and cheap and feels that way too. We've had it for less than 2 months, and two fan blades have already broken off! We bought another cooling pad at the same time for a few dollars more (Vantec LapCool 3) and that one is great. Spend the money and get a better one - this was really a waste of money.

Pros:
1. I got this for less than $15, that is the best part.
2. It cools very well. My Dell Inspiron 5500 was running like a toaster oven before I used this. Now it runs very cool.

Cons:
1. The fan is noisy.
2. The USB ports are not well designed and I am unable to plug in my IPOD shuffle to it because of the poor fit and alignment.
3. The USB cable provided is very short.
