In a nutshell the positives for this player are:
+ Ultra small
+ Incredible battery life from the built in rechargeable batteries
+ Tight and expensive-looking manufacturing

The only two negatives I would have are:
- Horrible headphones - replace with a good pair from Sony etc.
- Mediocre user interface on the LCD. Especially for volume up/down

Overall a great buy. The 256MB player holds 40+ long songs, which is enough for any workout!

Splendid Limited Edition Leica MP, But...........2004-12-24

Leica created this special edition Leica MP for the Leica Historical Society's 35th Anniversary last year. It is part of a limited edition of 1,000 cameras for worldwide distribution only, with priority given of course to LHSA members. The camera has a grey hammertone finish, which is believed to be quite durable, perhaps more so than the black paint finish used in previous LHSA limited edition Leica rangefinder cameras, other Leica limited edition rangefinders, and the current production Leica MP and M7 (the latter available only via Leica's A La Carte program). The back of the camera is engraved with the LHSA logo, followed by "SPECIAL EDITION 1968-2003". If you buy the camera with a matching kit comprising both a lens and Leicavit winder, the back of the winder is also engraved like the back of the MP camera body. The lens is a chrome 1950's styled 35mm f2 ASPH Summicron fitted with a removable vented grey hammertone lens shade.

Photographic equipment dealers believe that this is a very desirable camera for photographers and collectors; not only do I agree but I also think that it is more beautiful than the Leica MP Hermes special edition camera. However, it isn't quite as handy as a custom-made Leica MP A La Carte camera with a M7 rewind crank and a M7 film advance lever with a plastic tip (Both have been standard on Leica M rangefinders from the M4 through the M7.). You would pay only a few hundred dollars more for a custom-made MP A La Carte with these features. So my own personal preference from a user's point of view is buying a custom-made MP, not the Leica MP LHSA Grey Hammertone special edition.

Save your money.......2005-12-01

As this is the only review of this product, I'd refer people to the many negative reviews of the 250gb La Cie on Amazon. I had this drive for only two months when it started having problems. At just over a year, it had completely died, losing me about 12 hours of video footage, which took me two weeks to re-digitize. La Cie was arrogant in its reponse to my phone calls, refusing to even consider replacing it (as it was just over warranty)and offering me no assistance. "Ten percent of all drives fail", was the response. The 400 is actually two Western Digital 200gb drives--I know this, because when I tried desperately to retrieve its data, the person who opened the case said that with two drives (at RAID 0)there would be no way to retrieve the data, as it was scattered over the two drives. I recognize that drives fail, but it would be nice if a company stepped up to the plate and backed its product in some way.

Best I've ever owned.......2007-06-18

I've owned the 2431 since 2000 and love it. I've never replaced the rechargable battery pack! I'm thinking about doing it since it only stays charged for about three days.
I've tried other cordless phones, and this is the one I compare them against. None have gotten close to the overall quality of this one.

What I like about it:
- fantastic coverage:I can walk down the street a ways and still have excellent reception, where other cordless phones usually drop.
- ergonomic: easy to hold, very lightweight, just the right size, buttons are easy to find and press, etc.
- display is very easy to read and is backlit.
- usability: options are intuitive and quick to get to. It's easy to find a previous call and immediately call it. It also gives you the options to dial a prefix, 1+, etc.
- the handsfree option on the handset is nice.
- speakerphone is very responsive and low-noise.
- looks: still very modern, clean and professional.
- battery pack lasts a long time! Seven years so far!

What I dislike:
- the response time of dialing numbers. When you are pressing the numbers, there is a very slight delay (maybe third-of-a-second). This is slower than some of the newer models, but it's ok.

Rock solid phone for the home.......2007-04-26

Loved the ability to have four phones in my house all hooked up to one base wirelessly. No phone jacks where I needed a phone most, so this was perfect. Great sound clarity, handset controls and even more cool was that this phone was on all the tv shows at one time or another!

Anywho, a great phone. Never had problems with signal except when walking in front of a working microwave oven.

I have had the phone for over four years now and i love everything about it. With most cordless phones you have to get more then one type and with this one you can get just another handset and if your not near the hand set or your to lazy to find it just pick up on the speakerphone. What isn't there to love about it. If you are looking for a long lasting good quality phone this is the one for you.

Excellent features, mediocre signal.......2003-11-17

First off, for its price, this phone has a very nice features. I love having a hansfree speakerphone on both the base and the handset. The phone does everything I need to do. I was very impressed with it when I got it. I'd give it 5 stars on its features/price alone.

Unfortunately I have to give it 3 stars, because of its mediocre signal quality. This phone is simply unusable around any type of 2.4GHz interference, particularly 802.11b and 802.11g wireless networks. Long antenna shaped objects nearby also tend to cause interference. I knew these limitations before I bought it, and I figured it would be okay because I need to use this phone in my dorm room, which is not very big, so signal issues wouldn't really be an issue. But having said that, I can't go too far outside my room before the signal drops to unusable.

You have got to choose this phone - I have had it for two years, and can easily say I will never switch!!!! It has NEVER given me a problem - The intercom feature is nice, and the speakerphone on the handset is the clearest around!!! A definate pick!!!
