Great little camera.......2004-02-04

I got this camera in 1998 at a flea market for $30, the guy said he never put a battery in it, so he didnt' even know if it worked, so I was possibly buying a camera that didn't even work. I decided to try it.
I've had the camera for 6 years and haven't had one problem with it...and now that I have 2 kids, it has been dropped, etc, and still works better than any (non zoom) camera I've ever had. There is a feature that you can put 5 sayings on your pictures, but i've never used it. This camera went to Italy with me, and has travelled many stated in the eastern US, and still stands up to everything. if anything ever happens to this camera, I will buy another of the same exact style!!

Mine Broke!.......2003-12-28

After 18 months of treating this camera like gold and being reasonably satisfied with the quality of the images (as long as they weren't enlarged), one day it just stopped working with the lens partially extended, frozen in place. All the repair shops want $100 to fix it. For $100 I could buy a new one. It was cute while it lasted, but I've bought a Yashica T4 (the original - not the awful zoom remake with the same name) instead. It's not nearly as small, but this elph is just too fragile.

Great little camera!.......2002-12-19

What a great little camera!! I got this for Christmas last year and since it's so small.. I take it with me wherever I go. The picture quality is great. There are three settings to choose from for picture size and you can add the date and time if you wish.
I'm not a camera professional by an means but if you're looking for a great little camera, this is the one.

Best Camera!.......2002-08-02

I got this camera as a gift, and I LOVE IT! The only problem is, I was a volunteer for a charity event and it got stolen. I'm currently looking for another one!
The Elph Jr. is small, light-weight and easy to use! It has three different picture sizes, including panoramic! The APS film is much easier to use and pictures come out clear as a bell! The reason I love this camera is because it's not bulky, fits nicely in my purse/back pack/pocket and takes pictures just like, if not better than all those bulky overpriced cameras! It has a number of different language selections as well! All around, a great Camera and a great buy!

Easy to use, lets YOU focus on the pictures........2001-12-29

I bought this camera about a year ago, and I have been extremely pleased with it.

PROS:
-Small, fits unobtrusively in your pocket
-FAST f2.8 lense takes great pictures in low light
-Simple user interface. No hassels--it lets you focus on taking the pictures.

CONS:
-No mid-roll change. This is the one feature I wish it had, but it's really a perk rather than an essential, since I only shoot color print film in the camera anyway.
-APS film is grainier than 35mm film because it is a smaller format. I shoot with 200 speed film to reduce grain (not really the cameras fault, as this is a problem with all APS cameras).

I haven't had any problems with red eye using this camera. I don't like cameras that zoom because I think you take better composed pictures by physically moving closer to your subject. For the price, you can't get a better deal than this.

hey, it's much better than it has a right to be.......2004-08-16

I bought the entry level elph camera something like 4 years ago. It's simple, direct and has only one lense setting. But over those years, this little camera has taken great shots. It makes everything look far away, as the lennse is almost wide angle. So for scenery, you get the entire view. However, for taking pictures of people, it is great at a close distance, as it opens fast and shoots faster. You can often "catch the moment" in a way that a 35 mm won't - especially as people see it coming. This camera, you just pull out of your pocket or fanny pack and snap a pix. It also has a pretty good and quick exposure caibration system, as the photos tend to be exposed just about right. So, for $45 it can't beat.

I currently bought this Elph. I think it is a good starter camera becuase it is so small. It has good battery life and is easy to setup and use. However for big people it may prove to be a little to small. But, overall this is a great Elph.

What more can I say about this great product that 350 other Amazon reviewers haven't said? I've been a Wacom owner for 7 years now and can't go back to using a mouse, even for everyday point and clicking. This tool is really indispensable and once you've gotten used to it, you won't go back to clumsy mice either.

I'm a power user and use a lot of shortcuts. I can't stand seeing people right click with the mouse, scroll down to the menu choice they want and click it. It just takes up too much time-- something like 5 seconds compared to the fraction of a second it takes to just tap in the shortcut combo. I save even more time with the Wacom by how i've set mine up. What I do is rest my keyboard on top of the upper portion of the Wacom and remap the pen coordinates to the lower half of the pad. I keep the pen in my hand and just shift it back and forth between the pad and the keyboard, without wasting time moving my hand to pick up and drop the mouse. The pen is light and comfortable, so you can hold it all day without even noticing. Sometimes, I put it in my pocket and forget it's there.

I'm a graphic designer/illustrator/web developer and I've owned Intuos 1, 2, and 3's in a number of sizes, but predominantly use my smaller pads.
If $400 is too much for you, consider a Wacom Intuos3 6X8 Pen Tablet. It's about $300. I've found my 9x12's to be a bit too big for my desk. 4x6 or 6x8 is perfect for users who don't have a lot of space, or don't want/need to swing their arms around a lot when they work. The smaller sizes are also more portable, so you can take them back and forth, if you commute and your job is too cheap to pay for one (as previous employers have been reluctant to do).

Most of the reviews already given to this product are very accurate and can help you decide whether or not to buy this tablet. It's really meant for professional use. So casual artists; you may want to go with a smaller size, unless you really have the dough to spare.

Let's just remember that it IS just a tool, much like Photoshop or Painter or any other artist's tool/medium. It won't magically make you an art master over-night.

I'm so happy with this tablet. It is so accurate and responsive. It makes graphics art design and photo editing so much easier. I don't know how I ever got along without it. It takes my work to the next level. I previously owned the graphire, and while it was fun, this one is fun AND a work horse. It's a must have for all serious designers!
