Beware of the flash.......2004-02-24

I find that this is a great camera for taking pictures outside. However, while inside, the camera is pretty useless unless you're a foot away from your subject. In fact, the camera tends to work better in full darkness rather than in partial light. Often I find myself having to carry a disposable camera with me which I use for inside or nighttime pictures. Also, the flash cannot be turned off...I've tried. If you do manage to turn it off, the camera refuses to focus and your pictures come out blurry. In conclusion, spend the few extra dollars to buy a camera with a better flash...you'll appreciate it in the long run.

Excellent picture quality, but drains batterys........2003-01-08

I bought this camera, and the batterys included only lasted about 10 minutes (cheap ones; regular ones last about an hour). But the picture queality is very good, and they turn out clear. I find it easy to use, except for the fact that when you turn it on, the flash is set to the on position always.

...at 1.2 megapixels...i first thought the picture image taken would not be so clear...as my previous digital camera was a 2.1 hewlett packard...but to my surprise...this camera actually produced a clearer and more realistic photo than the h.p.....the skin tone came out very natural looking...the built in flash is also surprisingly strong enough to take a picture in pitch black and yet not too bright for normal portrait photos...

...more great features on this very affordable camera are self timer...movie mode...3.2 digital zoom...high resolution 1.5" viewing screen...easy navigation of menus and setups... lightweight...efficient flash...red eye reduction...autofocus... 3 different picture resolution modes...3 different image size modes...and many more

...some downfalls to this camera maybe that it is only a 1.2 megapixel camera and the largest quality photo it can take is a 5"x7"...the batteies drain fairly fast when using the color screen to take photos(only holds 2 AA batteries)

...overall this camera is a great one...for first time digital camera owners to experienced ones as well...for the features in this camera will keep you enjoying the many uses of a digital camera for memories to come!

The good features: The quality of the photos is excellent considering the price of the camera - clear and sharp with good color. Closeups are great. The photos download automatically when the camera is attached to the computer and the program lets you crop and add light and contrast to the photos before you store or send them.

The bad part: The memory card lacks space so one needs to have spares when touring. The instruction manual is terrible and the batteries run out quickly while one is trying to understand the instructions. Scrolling down the menus while hunting for options wears out the batteries. You must have rechargeable batteries on hand and to save the batteries use the view finder and not the screen....if you can figure out how! There is a long wait between pressing the button and taking the photo.

difficult to use but good quality pictures.......2002-11-26

I still believe in the quality of Canon cameras but after using this one for a few months, it's been increasingly difficult to get it to take pictures. When I press the button for it to take, it often does not actually take the picture and must be pressed repeatedly for it to take. I thought perhaps this was just a problem with my camera but my friend has a PowerShot A200 and complains of the same problem. This presents a frustrating problem because I cannot ask other people to take pictures for me as they do not necessarily know how to "coerce" the camera. The other problem I've encountered is that you can't change the manual/automatic settings without turning on the LCD. This causes an enormous drain on the battery. The settings are also difficult to find if you don't have your user's manual at hand.

Other than these problems, this is a great little digital camera at a good price. The pictures I have taken successfully with this camera have all turned out good and clear.

Great headphones, Great price.......2007-01-10

Ive had these now for a few months and have been very satisfied with the sound quality of the headphone. But what more can you expect from such a great brand in sound. As niose cancelling i would say is ok only becuase they're designed to pick up voices so you can hear whats going on. But honestly i wish they would drown out everything including voices. I have not tried them yet in an airplane but from the reviews ive read thats where these headphones perform the best. Well i'll be testing them out on my 14 hour plane trip next week, so hopefully all goes well.

One of the best purchases I've ever made..........2005-10-20

I can't sing enough praises to this wonderful device that has removed 99% of the annoyances at work. Ok, 99% isn't exactly accurate, but it's pretty close.

I put on the headphones, hit the switch, turn on the music, and I can't hear certain distant but extremely annoying coworker phone calls. The sound of the copier fades into nothing. I can't hear my computer's LOUD fan. And best of all, I'm unaware of my loud coworker's ninetieth retelling of the features of his car to the entire universe. It's just me and my Bollywood, and that's all I need :-)

The headphones are wonderful on the commuter train. I can hear the loud, obnoxious cell phone callers, but the phones make them seem like a dull background drone. I'm only faintly aware of the Crazy Frog cell phone rings and the loud conversations of people around me. Give me a magazine, and I'm on my own planet. The train noise itself fades to virtually nothing, and I'm shocked by its loudness if I have to adjust the headphones for a moment.

These headphones have not just spared me some annoyance, but they've lowered my stress level considerably and saved my sanity. Considering that I paid full retail for these, and not the nice discount price you see above, I'm still thrilled at the purchase, and would purchase them again for a higher price in a heartbeat.

Great on trains!.......2005-08-30

I've had several pairs of these. They're GREAT on commuter trains -- they greatly reduce the noises of klunky train cars, their ventilation, their non-closing doors, and such. They also reduce the noise from fellow passengers, including the moron nattering on the cell phone for an hour straight.

They also do a good job against co-workers who are under the mistaken impression that nobody can hear their phone conversations through cloth cubicle walls. And they're worth their weight in gold in a hyper-ventilated datacenter!

(I say several pairs because the original wiring design caused a break at the battery pack in pair #1, after 2 years of daily use in commuting. Pair#2 fell victim to a drop after 18 months and the plastic holding the earpiece to the headband snapped. Still a good value at Amazon's price.)

I *would* feel more comfortable schlepping these daily if they folded or had a hard case.

Sennheiser HDC 451 - Comfortable, with decent sound quality.......2005-06-30

More comfortable than I had expected (lightweight, but still feel plenty durable). Sound quality is good, but only when they're switched on. Without the noise reduction the sound quality is a little "muddy".

As far as noise reduction, there is a slight improvement. It seems to block out a lot of the residual noises (typing, hum of the AC, conversations across the room, traffic passing, etc.). But I still hear people talking closer to me, phones ringing...more direct sounds. The open-ear design probably makes some difference. But I tend to find the over-ear design hot and uncomfortable with extended use. I think the trade off is worth it.

The cord could stand to be a little longer. On a plane with it sitting in your lap or on a tray table, it's perfect. But plugging it into my computer (even with the jack on the front of my G5) the battery pack becomes awkward and usually gives in to gravity (pulling the headphones off my head).

A little pricey at $99, though. Get 'um down to the $70-80 range and it's a no-brainer. But even at $99 they're plenty comfortable, good sound quality and a solid brand name with a good reputation.

Excellent for Airline travel.......2004-05-01

Ive had this headset for over 6 years.
I cannot think of travelling without these headphones. I can clearly listen to the words in a movie and enjoy on-flight music .. as bad as it usually is.
There is a slight pressure on the ear due to the interaction between the low-frequency sound and reverse phase LF emitted my the headphones, so do not leave them on for more than a few hours.
Ive used it with my CD, Minidisk and MP3 players. The batteries easily last for 100 hours. I clip the battery compartment to the seat pocket.
The headphones intentionally let high-frequency sounds through so that you can hear announcements. I wish I could modify the circuit to block out HF sounds as well!
