EXCELLENT.......2007-08-30
I am using this camera and really abusing it, it never made be any problem. The battery charging is economical, hassle free, easy to use cradle. A pity other digital cameras dont learn this idea.
Picture quality A1.
Very fast shutter, (much faster than the elph canon...).
You won't regret buying exilim brand.
Casio Exilim EX-S600.......2007-08-24
I have purchased this camera at an extremely low price since the shop I bought it from changes its sock too often.
Yet it is a very neat camera, I have had the experience of previous buys and this is very satisfying...
It works perfectly well up to this time. This very slim marvel made by Casio offers a very good guidance in the screen for what ever combination is chosen in aperture and speed before the photo is taken.
These is an asset for those having some experience from the analogue era and have learned to control their picture taking session by changing the aperture and the speed according to the way they want to influence the subject matter..
Because of its size is an asset. Because of its price (especially the one I bought it for), a golden opportunity.
If you find it around at an offer, since there are Exilims around at 12 Mpixels already, get it with confidence.

i love this camera..its small and fits right in your pocket the pictures turn out good and everything about it works wonderfully!
Poor warranty coverage.......2007-08-21
Beware of Casio warranty coverage. In less than one year three small screws fell out of the base of the camera causing the case to open and allowing dirt and dust into the camera body. The lens jammed. Casio refuses to honor it's warrany saying that it is not a manufacturer's defect. I caution you before you purchase any casio products. Check out ebay and see how many of these used and defective cameras are up for sale.

I am reluctant to purchase expensive items online because if something is wrong with the product it's much harder to get replacements and refunds. I read the review about this issue.
I will say, however, that my own experience with this camera, and a 2 GB memory chip, both purchased online, has been stellar. I've had my camera for about 18 months. As far as family photos, it has changed my life. I learned to make movies from the video clips, and now I'm the official family movie maker. I have never run out of memory with the 2 GB chip. I record all day long and then upload it to my computer and then reformat my camera disk to erase everything and start all over again. I absolutely love this camera. It is tiny, light, convenient etc. I am, however, extremely careful with it. I won't let anyone hold it unless they first put their hand through the wrist strap. I don't want it dropped because I had read a review before I purchased it that it damaged the viewer. However, I admit I did drop it once or twice, even with being so careful. There is no damage and it works beautifully. I have never printed pictures from it, but I have made at least 50 DVDs from the video clips. It's my new hobby -- videotaping the grandkids, and the family members, especially those who live far distances, absolutely love receiving them. The kids, too, love seeing their trips et al on DVDs. So I have only fantastic reviews of this camera. I will be buying my daughter-in-law one for her birthday this year. I noticed that in 18 months the price of the camera has come down from about $400 to $200 and the memory chip from about $100 to $30. What a deal. I'm a huge fan of Amazon.com and purchase stuff regularly. I've never had any problem. I do still think, however, that it's riskier buying on line. However, the best prices are online by far.

Amazon.com Product Description
The Palm IIIxe handheld builds on earlier Palm III models by offering more memory and more options. Its 8 MB of RAM (four times the memory of the popular Palm IIIe) and 2 MB of flash ROM keep track of all your appointments, memos, to-do items, expense items, and e-mail, plus you can add thousands of third-party applications. Although the Palm IIIe and IIIx models have ample memory for many users, the Palm IIIxe better supports users who rely upon their organizer for data-heavy operations.
The Palm IIIxe is more powerful than its predecessors, but it retains all of the Palm IIIx's and IIIe's convenience features. It measures a mere 4.7 by 3.2 by 0.7 inches and weighs 6 ounces. Backing up and exchanging information with desktop PCs and popular PIMs requires just a touch of a button on the included HotSync cradle. The infrared port allows you to instantly beam business card information, phone lists, data, and applications to other infrared-equipped devices. It also features a sharp backlit LCD screen, legible in both dim and bright light.
The contents of the Palm IIIxe box include the Palm IIIxe handheld, a CD-ROM with an extensive assortment of Palm Desktop software applications, two AAA batteries, a DB-25 adapter, a HotSync cradle, a manual, and a Getting Started quick guide. You may further customize your Palm IIIxe organizer with third-party add-on peripherals such as modems or voice recorders. This device runs for approximately two months on just two AAA batteries and comes with a one-year manufacturer's warranty.
What's in the box

- Protective flip cover
- Stylus
- Palm Desktop software

Fantasic Value !.......2007-07-09
Just a quick note to say I purchased the IIIxe as a refurbished unit and it is great. Not a problem at all. Not even a scratch on it! Sturdy design and you feel like you've got something powerful in your hand when you use it. Looks like something built to MIL specs - which is good. The only 'flaw' was the graffiti took some getting use since it is an older version of the software - at least I imagine that is the issue.
All-in-all .....great purchase and unit!
Might be nice if it worked.......2006-01-28
I ordered this from a reseller, cg_enterprises@tds.net. The unit arrived without a cradle to charge it. I emailed the reseller and was told it would be sent overnight. Four days later it has not arrived. When I contacted the reseller again, I received the following professional response: "Bite Me!".
So if you buy one of these used be careful!
long time user.........2005-02-23
I still use my palm IIIxe.. bought it in 2001 from Amazon. Actually this is my second one, my first one bit the dust, so I bought a refurb for $39.00 and it synced up with the 4.1 OS... it is great for addresses and calendar + todos... I also type memos with a keyboard when I'm in the field. Also this is used daily from am to pm... at night I dl avantgo and read news from the otherside of the world before bed...
I'm a broadcast engineer with high end editing systems that I built myself and I keep watching for something that I can replace this workhorse with, but no go so far! The long battery life and using nimh AAAs is the clincher, just can't beat the little rascle.
The HP jornada line with the instant on and long battery life have caught me eye, but I don't care for windows CE.
Quality But No Frills PDA.......2005-02-22
I just bought this PDA used from Amazon and I'm pretty pleased with it. It's not color which I don't care about, but I am having a bit of a hard time seeing the screen well. I have had a terrible time getting it to synch correctly with Outlook and I couldn't get it to synch at all with Palm Desktop 3.5.3. No clue what the problem is, but after 2 hours trying to figure it out, I just gave up. I use Outlook Express, not Outlook and it took a lot of trial and error, but I can get it to synch names and addresses, but I can NOT get email to work since i don't use Outlook as my default mail handler. So..if that fits your situation and you want to synch for email and download from AVantgo, then do not buy this. However, I just want it for names and addresses to replace an old trusty Sharp Wizard that they don't make anymore. I really loved my Sharp though. What i like about the Palm IIIxe is that it's battery-operated (2 AAAs)- i honestly don't even fathom why people complain about this feature - they're nuts. The battery operated PDAs are the way to go because they can last forever in your purse and you don't have to remember to charge it. If the battery is dead while you're on the go - just run to a convenience store and buy AAAs. That simple. The Palm IIIxe seems pretty sturdy, but we'll see in the long run. Either with Palm or Sharp, this beats carrying around a paper and pencil organizer. The person I bought from on Amazon was great and honest too.
Probably the most perfect PDA.......2005-01-14
I bought this item from eBay a couple of months ago for just £25 (under $50 USD) inc. postage and packaging. The device was in mint condition, with the exception of the missing flip cover (which I would later purchase from eBay)...and it came with OS 4.1.
I have to say: I love this device! I have experienced no problems with it whatsoever, and finding software for it is a breeze.
Graffiti was very easy to learn, and I can now write on my Palm as fast as I can on paper. But, if writing a lot...you can always purchase a pull-out keyboard for the device. I got one brand-new and shrink-wrapped for an amazing price, from eBay.
The Killer Ap has to be AvantGo. Almost everyday I'll sync my Palm to download the latest from The Times and CNET News.
I would most definitely consider the IIIxe a 'trusty' device...and from reading reviews about other devices from Palm...this is the most perfect.
