Although, it is a cheap low quality product, I did not expected to last less than 6 months. I knew I wasn't buying the best product out there, but it should at least last for a year or so. I would not recommend this product. Save up another hundred dollars or so, and buy a brand known for quality. Hope this helps.

I wouldnt buy another Coby again!.......2007-07-26

I bought this system about 4 years ago, it worked ok, the sound quality wasnt what I expected but it wasnt bad for the price I paid. Everything was ok until recentally the cd/dvd player went out. The tuner still plays...the bass on it isnt very good but it plays. Also the remote doesnt work the best unless u point it directly into the reciever. If u want cheap for a short period of time this is the product!

Decent product for price, on par with others........2007-04-21

My dad received this system for an award at work. Its definitely not top of the line, but it serves it's purpose. It is not a powerful system, paartially because the sub-woofer is not a self powered unit, but draws it's wattage and output directly from the player, like the speakers. But, it does fair in the room we have it in, and my dad enjoys it. If you want something better, you'll have to pay for it. For a basic system, this delivers. Again, So far my other Coby DVD player has done ok for 2 years, and this one is holding up after 8 months, but be aware there are very mixed reviews. If you want one solid home entertainment center, save your money. IF the kids or yourself want a second system for the bedroom area, than this could fill that niche.

Best for the price.......2006-12-21

I recently bought this home theater and it accomplished all of my expectatives. The sound is excellent and I don't know how this surround system can be so badly critiziced. Althought the problem with the remote controller is somehow true, its nothing to worry about, I'm very happy with these speakers in my bedroom.

Inferior Product.......2006-12-16

The Coby 925 is an inferior product compared with today's technology available. The remote control is practically useless. Does not have a On/Off power button on the remote. Will not work unless standing directly in front of the unit and pointing the remote directly at the receiver. Requires several attempts pushing the same button before the receiver will respond. The biggest disappointment is the rude response I got from the technical service dept. when I called to get help because the unit will not play a DVD movie. I was told to buy another movie and to quote the woman tech..."I don't know what to tell ya." I won't ever purchase another Coby product. Don't waste your time with this product line. This product was installed in a new 5th wheel I purchased, so I did not choose it on my own. I will be forwarding a copy of this to the manufacturer of the 5th wheel. Maybe they will switch to another more reliable manufacturer for the audio/video components they install in their RV's.

Coby DVD Home Theate System Review.......2005-09-27

There certainly is a lot of stuff in the box for the money.

1. The remote is touted to be a full function remote, but it has no on/off control. That can only be accomplished by pressing the on/off button on the receiver.

2. The unit is advertised as a surround sound home theater system. It is....to an extent. The surround sound only functions when you are watching a DVD in the built-in DVD player. So, if you have, say, Direct TV or the Dish Network and you want to send the signal through this receiver for surround sound in either of the Alt 1. or Alt 2. inputs (the only inputs available) then you are out of luck. The receiver defaults to two channel amplification...stereo only, no surround sound. There is no way to send the signal through the Dolby algorithm.

3. There is a way to send pink noise to each of the speakers, but you can't adjust the volume to each speaker to "tune" them to the viewing room.

4. There is no tone control! Can you imagine? Factory set and that's that.

Having said all this, if you can live with the limitations, the unit looks and feels like a good piece of equipment. You can't beat the price.

The Panasonic PV-L601 VHS-C camcorder offers a balance of technology and accessible design for recreational shooting. This camcorder requires little setup time, and with easy-to-use features such as autofocus you need only point and shoot. With the VHS-C format and included VHS adapter, the tapes play back in your VCR.

The sizable 20x optical (150x digital) zoom allows for versatility when shooting from virtually any range. The zoom performs as it should, and is clear and free of visual artifacts. When turned on, the digital zoom activates instantly once you zoom past the optical barrier for surprisingly discernable image detail. The lens reacts to finger pressure to change between four zoom speeds. The digital image stabilization does a good job of counteracting the shakiness that results from the compact size and light weight of the camcorder.

The camera automatically detects when the LCD is open and turns off the EVF, saving battery power. ADS Pyro Firewire Enclosure.......2003-04-14

On the contrary, this enclosure works flawlessly with both a desktop and notebook (requires USB power boost) with an IBM 20MB 2.5" drive. People are often too quick to pan newly-installed products when what they really have are underlying system glitches.

No good. Lost all my data. Flaky interface........2003-02-20

I have my old income tax data in another notebook drive from back when I had another notebook. This year, I decided not to swap drives in order to do my income taxes.

The Pyro 2.5" Drive Kit (1394 interface) was the first solution I tried. Installation is easy and the whole thing was well made.

I was using a PCMCIA 1394 adaptor which didn't provide the power supply to the 1394 bus. So I used the cable provided by ADS that tapped power from the USB port. The first problem I encountered was that the USB ports on my notebook did not provide enough power for the hard drive.

I dug up a desktop with a USB port and used that as a power source.

Then the second problem : while accessing the drive, the system would hang or freeze for long periods of time. It was as if there was a communication problem between the notebook PCMCIA adaptor and the external drive.

The last straw occurred when I shutdown the system and then ran scandisk on the external drive : all my data disappeared!

I went out today and got a similar product by CompuCable instead and am now running scandisk again. This second solution (although not as well made) appears to be a lot more stable and does not hang or freeze during accesses to the external drive.
