Customer Reviews:
Definately durable.......2006-05-30
I recieved a MuVo a couple years ago and it's still with me despite dropping it frequently on hard floors and nearly flushing it down a toilet (don't ask). The only thing that has happened is that the battery cover has broken from dropping it.
My only qualms with it are that it's not compatible with iTunes, and the battery life is not very good, though it only takes one AAA. Music fans shouldn't rely on this player, buy a hard drive mp3 player with a large lcd if you plan on exceeding 25 songs, because scrolling through each song instead of having a list is an annoyance.
But, if your only looking for a small durable companion this is a
good buy
Defective or just 2X bad luck?.......2006-02-25
I love this mp3 player-- it fits everywhere, has a long battery life, reasonable quality audio for recording, efficient with space, very user-friendly, etc.
My only problem with this player is that I have had two defective ones. The first player brought me joy and happiness until 2 weeks of living with me, when it would shut off every time it was ready to advance to the next song. That's fine. So I got a replacement.
This current one was fine for 10 weeks until it would shut off even before I could fully power it on. This only happens 75% of the time, but that is definitely inconvenient, since I don't know how to prevent the incidences.
Aside from my negative experiences, its wonderful versatility is suitable for most activities... providing it works.
The problems I'm having are seemingly unrelated, and since I've followed the manual for usage since day-1, I doubt its my fault.
Great LIttle MP3.......2006-02-11
For the price, this small MP3 player delivers on quality. It was a gift for my technology-challenged teen who needed the recording capability of this player. It makes a decent recording but actually is being used more as the MP3 player. It's very small, easy to use and we have been very impressed overall with this great little player.
Great little MP3 player, but lacks a random button.......2005-12-16
I own the white micro, and it works great. I am relatively abuseive to my electronics, dropping them, pilling stuff on top of them. and the Micro has responded well. It comes with a rubber cover which helps protect it (and yes, it does bounce). The earbuds it came with were great. The menu is easy to figure out, and while the FM signal strength leave something to be desired, it only like 2 inches long, so thats kind of expected...
My biggest complaints (and really, what else is to complain about with this player) is that you can't set a playlist or random play (without a big hassel). It sets its own playlist: alphabetically. If you rearrange your mp3s by artist first, it will play them grouped together. If you want to set a playlist, Creative Labs told me that I needed to go and physically alter the file name of the song, putting something before the artist or title, whichever comes first in your setup. Thats fine if you only want to set one playlist forever and never change the songs, but if you want to be able to add and delete new songs, thats not a reasonable option.
There is a new MuVo MIX available from creative labs that takes care of the lack of a random button. I haven't tried it yet, but if they kept the rest of the features of this great player, they've taken care of its most glaring flaw!
Creative Muvo Micro - Feature Packed, Good Value MP3 player.......2005-11-08
The Creative Muvo Micro N200 MP3 player may not be found in the market, as it has been 'replaced' by a 'new' model called the Zen Nano Plus, which seems to be the same model with a new name. I think that this review can apply to new player as well.
As regards the player:
The Creative Muvo Micro is a flash based MP3 player, not hard-disk based, unlike the Apple iPod. Let's see it according to various parameters:
1. Style:
Well, the MP3 players from creative have been stylish, and this one is no exception. It is almost the size of a cigarette lighter, and only slightly larger than a matchbox. While this may seem de riguer for all flash based players these days, not all of them can truly claim to be this small in reality. The Micro is basically a rectangular/cuboidal shape with soft edges and a small display (which is not colored, but suits a player of this size). Of course, some MP3 players like Sandisk's Flash range offer a bigger display, but are also bigger in size overall.
2. Build:
This is one area where I feel the player could have done a bit better, It is well made, even though it is constructed in plastic, but the volume and play/power button are a wee bit flimsy. Nothing to worry about, of course, unless you have a 6 year old with a penchant for using it as a WMD ;)
3. Features:
This is the Creative's USP. It is one player that is loaded to the gills with features such as a FM radio with FM Radio Recording, Microphone, and even Line-in recording, for converting songs from cassettes directly to MP3 using th player alone. No need of the computer. In addition, the player has 4 equalizer settings, and even a customizable one. And of course, it plays music brilliantly. My player has 256MB of memory which holds about 50-60songs, and the player also comes in 128MB, 512MB and 1GB versions. I would advice you to avoid the 1GB version, as it is expensive, and at that price, I'd rather say you stretch your budget for the uber-cool 2GB iPod Nano. (which has a colour screen, but no FM radio).
4. Sound:
This of course is the primary thing anyone should look for in an MP3 player, and the Creative does not disappoint. The sound quality is quite good, and can handle all genres of music from Pop to Rock to Hip-Hop, Trance... and everything in between. The earphones provided are of an excellent quality, with a nice comfortable padding, and feel quite good to use even for long durations. The volume may need to pumped up a bit for listening in loud situations, but i found that a software update on the net loudens up the set quite a bit, providing even louder volume, which is good.
5. Other features:
The player also comes with a very nice rubber-like extra cover to protect it. This cover is white and translucent, and lets you access the controls very easily. IT also doubles up as a belt clip, and the Micro also comes with a shoulder strap. The cover is quite good, as it saved the player from getting scratches when I dropped it.
A few quirks/drawbacks of the player:
There area a few drawbacks to the Muvo, primarily the weird sort of faint buzzing sound which comes whenever the backlight is on. This can or cannot be a major issue, and I guess most owners have come to accept and live with this. This problem is only heard when you are changing songs, in the silent period between the change of songs. For once the song is being played, you cannot hear the buzz in the background. Besides, I found that, unless you use the player at night or in a dark room, you do not need the backlight. In a moderately lit room, the backlight is not needed.
The other quirk is the relative lack of FM signal strength. I say relative, as compared to other players, as reception is quite good. It may only get a bit fuzzy if you are in a lift or a closed room with no windows ;). You have to manually scan for the FM stations, as Auto scan can't pick them up very effectively, but once you've got your station of choice, you only need to save it to the Preset mode, and you can access it at the flick of a switch.
Overall, the Muvo Micro is a very nice MP3 player to have. For those concerned about the slight Buzz, you can try Creative's Muvo TX FM, which has the same features, but is slightly larger.

Not worth buying this camera........2002-08-27
I just received it. Camera is good looking but did not
come with case or battery. Importantly, it is not zoom
camera. It is telephoto camera. It means, you get to zoom
at predefined levels in this case at 38mm/60mm/75mm/95mm.
You can zoom only to either of these 4 settings. I am
now planning to return it.

Customer Reviews:
THE BEST OF THE BEST.......2006-01-19
I first bought the Motorola print server so all of our computers could print easily and wirelessly. when i got it it was so easy to set up. Now i have the wireless router the motorola 850GP. I had before a very bad D-Link DI-624 C Version they are horrable. Once i got the motorola all i had to do was plug it in to my cable modem and the power. Then i used a very simple installation CD that it came with and that took at the most 10 minutes. Then it took me to a website that was also easy that helped me to set up the security settings and the IP addresses on my 3 computers. In no time i had all the computers on the internet wirelessly and printing wirelessly. If you are having trouble installing it DONT hessitate to call Customer Service they can get it up and running in way less time then it would take to be mad at the modem.
Terrific High-Quality Router.......2005-03-08
I did quite a bit of research on wireless routers before purchasing one through Amazon. I wanted something that was a high-quality product that didn't have a lot of mixed/bad reviews... and I found that Motorola had terrific reviews and was also putting out the latest versions of wireless technology.
I am not sure how familiar you are with the wireless networks, but the "standard" version of the wireless radio waves is called: 802.11b which operates at about 11Mbps, if I remember correctly. Now, however, there is an 802.11g technology out that is about 54 bps, which most establishments will be upgrading to in the near future. This means that the transfer rate of information over the radio waves is supposedly increased about 5 times faster with the new technology. So looking ahead, I wanted a router that would use the newer technology... and also still "talk" with the older standard, which some "Hot Spots" such as Starbucks are still currently using.
After looking at the mostly terrible reviews of other manufacturers, I settled on the newest Motorola wireless broadband router, model 850gp which uses the 802.11g technology, and also has "Performance Enhancement" technology over their 850g model.
I originally was going to use an older Belkin 802.11b wireless card that my husband had used several years ago at college, but after many hours of grief trying to get it to work... and calling Motorola's Customer Support (very helpful and nice folks by the way), and Belkin's Customer Support (pretty useless...), we found out that the school's networking gurus had actually physically changed the IP address on the Belkin card, which means "its really trash" in other words. ;) It was nice at least to find out that there was nothing wrong with the Motorola router, and there was nothing wrong with the way I had set the software up... it was just that the Belkin card had been specially modified to use only the school's wireless service.
Therefore, I went to Amazon and ordered a new Motorola 802.11gp wireless card to go along with the new router. Once it arrived, after a relatively short time period setting up the software, the new Motorola router and card were up and running. Moral of the story... although it is possible to use a mix, it will save you a lot of time and heartache if you use the same BRAND of wireless router and wireless card for your computers... as then the Customer Support people can easily help you if you should need them.
How the Motorola router software works, is that there is a CD that comes with the router to set it up initally on your computer. Then after the "basic" setup, the CD software directs you to a website that actually configures the security settings of the router to your personal home use/needs. Therefore, I strongly suggest that once you have set-up the basic CD software, you go through the UserGuide step by step to make sure you have your Security Settings how you want them. There are also several additonal features you may/maynot be interested in, for instance, you can set-up a gaming machine like XBOX to work wirelessly through the router. And there is a Parental Control setup if you want it for children. Also, there are 4 hardwire connection ports on the router, so you can have 4 different computers/printers/etc. to use the same Internet connection, if you don't want to use wireless cards.
The Motorola wireless card is very similar in easy basic software setup, with a CD that comes with it for installation. Although I would suggest installing the card software before setting-up the router, I don't remember the card software directing you to an Internet website... just the router.
Hope this helps!

Rich detail. Extraordinary color. That's precisely what you get with the DiMAGE F300. Its 1/1.8-type CCD has an effective resolution of 5.0 megapixels, which delivers highly refined images that are ideal for enlarged printing: 43.3 x 32.5 cm/17 x 12.8 inches at 150dpi, or A5-size/6 x 9 inches at 300dpi. For optimum color reproduction, three key features are included: a primary color filter, 12-bit A/D conversion, and Minolta's exclusive CxProcess image processing technology. High-grade Minolta optics harnesses the full potential of the powerful CCD. The Minolta GT Lens is an ultra-compact lens with 8 elements in 7 groups. It has 3 aspherical surfaces to suppress chromatic aberration and image distortion. Only lenses that pass the strictest quality standards earn the GT Lens designation, and are featured on cameras developed under the "Superior Image Quality" concept. Distracting specks of color can be a serious problem with many digital cameras, but not the DiMAGE F300. At slow shutter speeds, its highly effective noise reduction goes into action. Landscapes shot at night, for example, look remarkably clear as a result.

LTO Ultrium 1 cleaning tapes are equipped with a computer memory chip (just like the data tape). The chip stores various information and it has an embedded code that is recognized by the compatible drive's firmware. Once the cleaning cartridge is used to capacity (50 times in the case of a Type H cleaning tape), the drive will no longer accept the cleaning tape and will eject the tape, prohibiting further use. This is very different than other tape formats that will continue to cycle the over-used cleaning tape, regardless of the number of times it has been used.Fujifilm offers you this LTO Ultrium 1 cleaning cartridge for HP tape drives.

Customer Reviews:
Just passable on analog TV, not good on digital........2006-03-02
Recently hooked this up via Component cable to my 42" plasma HDTV for DVD playback. The bottom quarter of the picture is noticably fuzzy compared to the rest of the picture, especially for text. Definitely cheap junk, but can't afford a new progressive scan one yet. Picture was fine via composite or s-video to an analog tv. VHS side seems flimsy and tends to make weird scary noises during fast forward or reverse. Don't really trust it not to eat my tapes!!
JUNK.......2004-06-16
This product is a piece of JUNK!!! Mine is approx 6 months old, and will no longer record (vhs) for longer than 45min. According to a service tech I know, there is a chip that overheats, and when it does, causes about 6-9 inches of tape to get stuck in the vcr. BUYER BEWARE- 1 year parts warranty, but only 90 days labor. They will give me a new chip - but I would need to PAY their service center to fix their defective product. No Thanks- and I'll buy another brand with extended replacement type warranty.
Awful design.......2003-12-01
How do I hate this product? Let me count the ways. The technical design suggests that the DVD group and the VCR group took two different products and stuck them together without ever consulting each other. Although the playback quality appears fine, doing even the most mundane task requires a ridiculous amount of effort. I am looking for an excuse to sell this thing on e-bay.
- You can't record one show while watching another. This is supposed to be a prime feature of any VCR.
- You can't actually program the VCR without the remote control.
- You have to shut down the unit if you want to record anything later. It's super annoying.
- In order to program the menu, you have to use the play, stop, rewind, etc. buttons on the remote control even though there are cursor keys on it. The cursor keys only work in DVD mode. How stupid.
- The DVD and VCR features are completely separate, and several features that should be common (like watching TV or setting the time) can only be done in VCR mode.
- You can't actually pause the DVD. Once it's paused, you will have to go back to the main menu to play the movie.
I wish I had bought any other brand.
eh, mostly does what I ask.......2003-04-27
For playing DVDs, and vcr tapes, it mostly does what I ask.
Biggest gripe is no manual tracking. It is supposed to be automatic, but several tapes I have from other vcrs get sqiggly to the point of being unwatchable.
Setting up the maching to record is not intuitive IMO. You need to steer around with the play, stop, rew buttons, even though there are arrow buttons elsewhere on the remote. Also you cannot enter dates and times with the number buttons, you must steer around with the play, ff, rew, and stop buttons--very odd in my book. Also you need to physically hit a button on the machine to finalize the timed record process. Why??
The remote seems very dead. You really have to point at the unit to get it to work.
So far it continues to work, after 6 months. Picture quality meets my standards, though I don't ask for much.
So I give it an eh. I'm sure you can find better, but for the most part, it does what I ask it to do.
not great, wife hates it, had to buy a new one.......2003-04-22
I've had this DVD/VCR for several months. The display quality of DVDs and VHS is good. There are design deficiences that are annoying: must press a button on the unit (not remote) in order to activate VCR timer recordings, cannot stop a timed recording without pressing this same button, cannot do a one-touch timed recording with the remote, audio gets out of sync with about 50% of DVDs played (pause or stop/restart to resync).
