2.5 years and going strong.......2007-07-09

I bought this MP3 player 2.5 years ago,and have had no problems with it. I used it off and on for most of the time, but this past month I use it daily when going for walks. It holds enough music for my hour long stroll about town. The battery life seems to last a while. It's no big concern to carry an extra battery anyway. Very easy to plug and ply on my pc and my laptop, no software needed. All music is loaded via drag'n'drop. I do use an outside program to rip my cd's to mp3,which is a life saver.

I've also used this as a flash drive before I bought a 2 gig usb drive.

My only true complaint is the earbuds, I hate them with a passion. So I replaced them with a pair of behind the neck head phones, problem solved.

Only thing I wish I did different was to not get FM radio (Sirius Subscriber,so I avoid terrestrial radio), and maybe more memory. But 40 or so songs is enough to cover my daily walk routine.

All in all(minus the ear buds) I'd say this little guy has been very reliable. I wouldn't hesitate to get another if I have to.

Really need improvements.......2007-03-17

The battery cap is extremely fragile. It breaks easily.
I bought three MuVo to my daughters and all of them are broken. They aren't kids anymore.
At least, the gadget works fine but you must update its firmware or it will stuck very soon.

I have had this player for a little over a year and have hardly used it. It has never worked correctly. When trying to switch tracks, it automatically shuts off on me. Now, it won't even turn on! Unfortunatly, I did not register the product or keep any of the original paperwork, so the company won't do a thing about it. If you have this player, do not get rid of the paperwork!

For Beginners.......2007-01-21

I received this about 2 years ago, when it was first released and very expensive. It is still the only MP3 player I have ever owned and does the job. Compared to newer MP3 players this is a `toy', with limited functionality, memory, and lack of video, pictures, etc. It is extremely basic. The biggest problem is with battery life - it is horrible!! Absolutely horrible battery life. It uses 1 AAA and it eats through batteries like crazy. That has been the biggest downfall. The software it's bundled with is ok, but not very intuitive; I still have a hard time figuring out how to transfer music easily. The player is extremely compact and the headphones are ok - nothing fancy. I've used the voice recorder a lot and also the FM radio, and both offer good reception. The on/off dial is a button that you have to hold down and it takes quite a while to start up/shut down. You can scroll through songs, fast forward, rewind, and the songs seem to be played alphabetically by song title (unless I just haven't figured how to change that). This isn't a player for people who love music, because it doesn't hold too many songs - between 60 and 120. I've outgrown this, and technology has surpassed what this player is capable of; this is a bare-bones player that doesn't hold much and doesn't do much. Great for a run in the park, but the battery probably won't even last that long. Unlike others, this has never broken on me or malfunctioned. There are much better options available now in MP3 players, so look around for something better.

This is easy to use as most reviewers note, however, ours stopped working after a few months of use. Just won't come on anymore. Yes, we've put new batteries (lots of those when it worked) to no avail. We've since purchased a Sansa which we are currently happy with, but only had for two months. I'll write a review for that once we've determined that it's reliable.

Great MP3 for the Money.......2005-12-11

I bought this for my husband last year. He is very budget minded and didn't want me spending a lot of money on an MP3 player for him. He has been elated with this little gizmo. The ease of transferring files (vs. the iTunes baloney my daughter goes through with her iPod), the size of it and the sound are all great in his words. The only down side, which is our own fault is the 256mb, which limits the amount of songs he can put on-so he simply changes them when he gets tired of listening to the same music. After one year it is still working fine-though he's due for an upgrade pretty soon.

It has been almost a year(11 months+) since I bought this player. It is still going strong.

The pros,
1. Really tiny and light even with the battery
2. Records voice with reasonable quality
3. Plug and play - no software required if you are using windows 2000 or higher. 98 requires the driver.
4. Easy interface with quite a few useful features like equalizer, options for shuffling play/repeat/loop etc, preset modes etc
5. Comes with arm-band and half cover. A loop for putting your keyring is also on the player.
6. Good battery life.
7. AAA size battery. No propreitary crap.

Cons
1. The USB pluggable device is on the bulky side. This means that you cant use any other usb device on the adjacent usb port while this is plugged in to 1 of the usb ports.
2. The creative earplugs are kind of weak sound-wise (though my friend seems to be fine with them). I would suggest a different pair of earphones. I bought sony earphones for like 10 bucks.
This improved the sound/volume almost 2-3 times.

These are very minor glitches and can be worked around. A must buy if your budget is tight, and you want a basic mp3 player with 256MB (this is small nowadays) and no FM. Nowadays you can buy the 512MB one with FM for the same price I bought this one last year (70$).

Works good for the money I spent on it!!.......2004-07-23

This is probably one of the best electronics I have bought in a while, the only complaint I have on it is you need good light to take pictures or video tape anything, otherwise it comes out fuzzy and slightly blurry. It works great other than that. I already have transfered about 300 pictures onto my computer and have enhanced and printed them out. I would like to have something smaller to take pictures but I am happy w/ what I have until I get some extra $$$ to spend on a small digital camera.

Excellent quality.......2003-12-04

This camera takes amazing quality digital photos. The features are extremely handy for making home movies, incorperating still photos; It is also nice to be able to get a still photo out of a movie! I have gotten a lot of compliments on the close-ups I took of my dogs... no red eye, no blurs... I also managed to get quite a few wildlife photos because the zoom quality is so good. I could also take a picture of a dew drop on my roses at night. So, that should tell you how good this camera is. The ONLY thing I do not like is the smaller sized video casettes. But, that is pretty standard with camcorders.. and a small price to pay for the size reduction from the much older, more cumbersome models. I would definitely recommend this product.
