No more D-Link Products for me.......2007-09-18

Out of the box my router never worked 100% correctly. It would not keep the correct date and time, some functions didn't work as described. I was told to update the firmware, but when I did, the new firmware introduced new and worse problems, so I stayed with the old firmware and its problems for over a year. When I finally decided to go to the latest firmware, it was a disaster. It filled my inbox with logs of TWINGE Attacks. I contacted Comcast and was told by them that they have only had complaints of this problem from D-Link users. They tried to set up a conference call with D-Link, but it didn't succeed. D-link was unable to deal with the problem and said they would replace the router. But the RMA department wouldn't do it until more trouble shooting was attempted. The tech who was supposed to do it couldn't deal with it and escalated to level 3. The Level 3 tech asked me to send some of the logs, which I did. I never received a response to that (sent 8/28/07). When I received no response, I sent an email asking why, but received no response to that.
Sept 18 I contacted D-Link again and was sent to a Level-2 person who then processed the paperwork to allow an RMA, and one was issued by the end of the day. When I read all the rules and procedures for the RMA I felt it was not worth the cost of postage to go any further. This is not a company I want to do business with. I'd rather go buy a new router from another company with better products and support.

Cost effective and technically strong choice.......2007-09-14

The D-Link DI-624 Wireless Cable/DSL Router is probably the best you can buy for the money, and technically superior to all of its competitors in this price range. This is my 3rd purchase of this product --- one for myself a year ago, and two others for friends with a need for a secure wireless environment in their home offices. The documentation (pdf on CD-ROM) is excellent for both the novice and experienced tech. Strong WPA security with 128-bit encryption was a breeze by following instructions, and picking up a random key from "Yellowpipe Internet Services" at http://www.yellowpipe.com/yis/tools/WPA_key/generator.php

I strongly recommend this product.

Works flawless! Better than Belkin.......2007-09-02

I had a Belkin, which I found out later was the "Huffy" of wireless routers. A friend of mine who is a network engineer recommended this model. The Belkin would work for an hour or so, then go down.

Since I've plugged in the D-Link, we have had our connection since Nov 2006. Hasn't gone down once.

I use this D-Link with my iMac and Macbook.

Installation was quick but signal range is extemely poor. Unless you want to work in the same room or floor the signal will be single to two bars max. I am also losing internet signal every 30 minutes or so. Now I have purchased belkin from circuit city with two antenas (forgot the model #) and things are perfect.

Perfect Secondary/Backup Hard Drive for Laptops!.......2004-04-30

I have been using Maxtor external hard drives for just over a year now and have made recommendations to family and colleagues which have resulted in them buying many of them as well. So with experience with close to a dozen hard drives, we have not had any problems and have nothing but praise for the drives.

First off, with internal hard drive prices for laptops so expensive and so difficult to install, external hard drives that use firewire (IEEE1394) are a great option. These hard drives use both firewire and USB, so you can take the information and hot swap it among multiple computer (like a thumb drive) or keep it plugged in to a single computer for use a secondary hard drive. I have found virtually no speed difference between accessing files on the external hard drive versus the internal.

The automatic backup feature, makes the hard drive all that much more useful. It comes bundled with Dantz Retrospect Express program which is an easy-to-use option for automatically backing up just what you want with a touch of a button. I backup often, usually just punching the button as I go meet to clients. It usually finishes the automated process by the time I return. Because backing up is so easy to do, when I did lose the hard drive on one of my laptops, I barely missed a beat after I got it replaced, simply restoring the drive image to make my new laptop look just like my old one.

I highly recommend Maxtor external hard drives.

Good Hands Free with easy installation.......2003-07-05

Finding a good handsfree set isn't easy! I needed one for my motorola v60 phone which didn't require modifying my leased car. This model sits in the cupholder. You will have to see if it will fit in your particular car's cupholder. The speaker part is shaped like a cyclinder and will sit your car's cupholder. From this base there is a power cord that plugs into the cigarette lighter. There is a thin retractable cord that will connect to your phone and another one which houses the external microphone. The kit also includes a stick on "holster" that your phone sits in while in use in the car.
I don't use the phone constantly while driving so when it's not in use, the retractable ext microphone and cord that plugs into the phone is retracted and tucked away. The projected sound quality i.e. your voice is good due to the external microphone. The speaker is adequately strong and projects the other person nicely. Overall this handsfree is significantly better than the earlier generation motorola handsfree which lacked an external microphone.

I have been unable to get my NEC DVD Burner to write on these disks. Upgraded drivers and looked at Radius site which say they are compatable with my drive but so far no luck. I also bought the + bundle and they work with my dirve but write at 2X. I am sorry I purchased these.

Radius Technology DVDs ID as "OPTODISC" brand media. (That is, OPTODISC makes the discs for Radius). OPTODISC media are generally found to be lousy: poor compatibility with many burners and many "coaster" (unreadable) burns. Amazon has high quality RIDATA blanks for a little more money. I highly recommend you buy them instead. Save yourself a lot of headaches and (if you store anything of importance) heartbreak. There really *IS* a significant difference between very cheap DVD media (like these) and better DVD media (like the Ridata).

printable face is great. The quality of printout looks excellent and it's better than fellowes cover I made.
Not a single problem with copy.
I bought 100 for $30.00. Great buy for printable DVD media.
This has been updated from my previous review because it turned out to be the issue with my Sony DVD player after fast forwarding. Try to change the ratings too but dunno how.
BTW, media is made in Taiwan instead of Japan.
