Great product for the price........2007-08-30
This product is really nice for the price. I just needed a decent tripod for a 3 week trip so I didn't want to spend too much money, but wanted something still nice. I really like the travel bag and how when the tripod is not inside, the tripod section can be folded up and stored under the velcro flap making it less bulky. The actual tripod is better than expected and even works with my Canon D SLR Rebel XTi. It is very light weight which is great for traveling, but it can be a little wobbly when moving so take care when adjusting it so that it doesn't fall over if you have a heavy camera on it. It works great with my Nikon Coolpix S7c also. The mini tripod in the handle is best for smaller cameras, but still a nice addition for certain shots. I also like the flip locks for extending the legs instead of twisting locks. Overall this product is worth the price and more.

This product met my expectations. The carrying case is a nice bonus and I like that the little tripod is stored within the larger tripod. This meets my needs.
Good as a Starter Kit.......2007-06-12
My concern is the bag. Very uncorfortable when you are carrying the camera and the Tripod at the same time. The bag is for a small camera not for a slr, I have to detach the lens from my Nikon N60 because barely fit in there.
The tripod is very light, is easy to use and is worthy considering the price. But if you are looking for one more strong and steady this is not for you.

Bait and Switch?.......2006-11-02
This is the first complaint on anything I have bought through Amazon. This product was fulfilled through 47th Street Photo. I specifically ordered it because it was advertised as Canon brand name products. When the order came, it was a Samsonite camera case (nice, but bigger than the Canon item), and "off-brand" batteries and charger, similar to ones that I've had trouble with in the past. It was specifically the Canon batteries I wanted, in addition to the case. I won't go through the return process, but I'll think twice before ordering something again not sent directly by Amazon.

Everything works with my camera just like it said it would. Only negative was that the secondary vendor also sent me someone elses order, and although I emailed them several times and call once I could never get a response as to what to do with the extra item.

I placed my order, got my confirmation, and the next day received a message that their inventory was off and there was no stock for this item, so my order was cancelled. Their inability to keep count of their stock is not my problem and they should have honored my order and filled it with individual components in order to make up the package they were offering. This is a good example of BAD customer service and consequently, I will never order from them again.

The camera was ready to use shortly after it was out of the box. Photo quality is excellent, camera screen has good resolution, camera menu is easy to manipulate. The kit was an excellent value.

Panasonic shockwave walkman.......2000-11-19
I find the sound great. The headphones hurt my ears and are uncomfortable. The AM does not pick up in the gym but FM is fine. AM picks up fine outdoors and in the house. It works great with the hand held device which I prefer with running. No jarring and I love the antiroll feature. And one battery! I also like that it is not heavy. I find it slighly smaller than the Sony and easier for my smaller hands. It is light weight. I enjoy it as my first digital.
Best walkman I have ever had........2000-10-19
I love this Panasonic Shockwave. I have gone trhough several walkmen (or walkmans) in the last few months. Each has had its irritating problems (too easy to bump the volume or some other setting, bad reception or volume control, battery hog, battery and tape falls out when dropped, etc.) and each has broken beyond repair after being dropped accidentally.
My new Shockwave has survived several bumps and crashes with no ill effects. It has digital tuning with prerecorded stations (what a bonus, definite time and emotional energy savings here.) The volume dial is not easuly bumped and the belt clip is easily removable.
The only annoyance is that when you turn the radio on it tunes into AM first (you have to press the button a second tiem to go to FM) and I never listen to AM. This is not a big problem.
The shockwave is a rugged piece of equipment with some great bonus features. I recommend it highly.
nice unit, headphones are lame.......2000-10-04
I just received my player today. Overall, the quality looks pretty nice. I did notice that if you moderatly shake the unit you will get some wow/flutter when listening to tapes. I don't think running with it will cause any problems though. It looks reasonably well sealed. The only rub on this product is that the earbud-sized headphones sound pretty bad. I hooked up an old pair of Sony headphones (typical 'on the ear' as opposed to 'enclosing the ear' size) which improved the sound quality dramatically (roughly 50%). I've listened to 2 different ear-bud sized headphones, and they both sound pretty bad compared to the bigger sizes.

Look at it- You could smash an mp3 player to bits with this thing, while playing a tape. I defy you to find another walkman that is red and black, and as bad-a^^ as this one. Also, Shockwave is a technology owned and pioneered by Macromedia, and allows for interactive, vector based streaming entertainment. This walkman is Macromedia's flagship Shockwave player, and doesn't require any plug-ins.
