Bless this workhorse!.......2007-05-17

I have had this printer for almost five years and tens of thousands of pages and I could not be happier! Yes, there are some paper feed issues, they are few and minor. This printer is GREAT for printing photos, mine actually works best on plain paper, photo paper does not agree with my machine. I have printed thousands of pages for work projects, it was more efficient cost wise for me to but 5 refills (three black and two color) yes, I use generic, than pay a printer. Last week, the printer started to make an awful noise, I thought that it was the end....A friend then showed me the turn it upside down and pat it trick. It works wonderfully well again. Good thing, I still have a stash of ink!

Exceptional printer but I wish it used less ink.......2007-05-11

I have owned this printer for almost 4 years and till this day I have not had any problems with it, other than running the tests that are built into it's programming. It scans, copies, and prints very well and usually with no problem. There have been a couple of times when the printer took in more paper than one sheet, causing it to jam which is a pain but this has only happened a few times since I have owned it. The only major concern I have with this printer is that it uses WAY TOO MUCH INK!!!! Even when using ink saving methods of printing (draft, black and white, setting the ink level on the printer to the lowest level), it still uses way too much and chews it up so fast you will need a new ink cartridge after a year of a considerable amount of printing. Overall this is a very impressive printer and given that I have owned it for this long with no major problems, you should want to buy one yourself. And don't listen to people that say it causes problems because they probably don't know how to operate the equipment properly.

Designed to waste as much ink as possible........2005-11-26

It clogs continually, and it always takes more than one cleaning cycle to get it printing right again. Which wastes all sorts of ink. When a cartridge gets down to 10% or less it won't allow you to run a cleaning cycle anymore, it tells you there's not enough ink left to run cycle to give you an idea about how much ink it wastes while cleaning. It's down right criminal how the printer manufactures purposely gouge you with replacement cartridges. scanning is adequate though.

This is a dud printer.......2005-11-12

My father-in-law bought this printer for me less than two years ago. I had the same paper-feed problems described above (large amounts being pulled through for no reason). Eventually a sensor was damaged and it stopped working, I exchanged it within the year warranty and hoped it was a fluke. The "new" one that was sent had the EXACT SAME PROBLEMS from the get go, and eventually stopped working as well. Unfortunately, the warranty had run out and I am now stuck with a $175. paper weight.
DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!!!

terrible printer.......2005-02-17

I thought my cx3200 was just a 'friday built' one - but no. I have used two identical models and they all had the same problems.

It has a dreadful sheet feeding mechanism, randomly it will grab 1, 2, 10 or all of the paper in the sheet feeder. Even if you are lucky enough for it to only grab one sheet, it often skews the paper.

The text print quality is poor. Surely this is a basic function any printer should perform adequately?

Also, the printer decides when the print cartridges need replacing. And you cannot use the other cartridge until the empty cartridge is replaced.

I bought this because it was a Philips and only $119. I love all the great features it has, especially Smart Picture which adjust the settings for what I am watching. For a little TV it sure has a lot to offer!

Portable portable PORTABLE!!!.......2004-07-28

This is (AFAIK) the only portable LCD monitor on the market, and it is truly PORTABLE, as in designed to be that way. When the base folds down, the whole monitor and power supply easily fit in a 16 inch or 17 inch sized notebook case!!! This particular feature (portability) should be emphasized, as it is AWESOME for people who want a portable, UPGRADEABLE system. (Notebooks are portable, but they are also expensive and NOT upgradeable). So you can get an SFF case (antec aria for example) and build yourself a powerful desktop system that fits in two small bags!!!

My nephew has this monitor and it is a great gaming monitor with AWESOME picture quality. It's a little expensive for a 15 inch monitor, so if you don't need something portable, you might want to upgrade to a 17 inch for about the same amount of money. But it is a great deal, considering the outstanding picture quality and portability. -Dave

Perfect picture.......2004-02-23

This is a GREAT monitor at any price. I recently built a system for my brother and bought a cheap flat-panel MAG monitor to go with it. Well, the color produced on the MAG was all washed out. And if you looked at it at any angle other than straight on, it was much much worse. Which is typical for flat-panels, but on the MAG is was excessive.

I took it back and carefully looked at all the flat panels, and this NEC was the ONLY one that looked great at every angle. And the color reproduction is simply jaw dropping. DVDs look great, games play great, and it's real easy on the eyes.

If you want great graphics at pretty good price, this is the one to get!

Single Button operation and twin high-speed drives make the Gemini an easy way to copy quickly and painlessly. The master disc and blanks are inserted in the Gemini's 100 disc input hopper. When the start button is pressed, the master is read first by the recorders. A disc image is created on the Gemini's hard drive, and burned to the subsequent blanks in the recorder. Finished discs are dropped into the caddy below. If Gemini finds another master disc in the input, it will overwrite the hard drive image and start recording the new data to the following blank discs.

Frustration.......2005-12-16

I'm pretty tech savy and rarely have a problem with anything...but, this product is very ticky and frustrating. First, I ordered the 100 DVD machine listed with Amazon, but received the 50 disc with 8x burners. The explanation I was given was that the 100
jammed so they had replaced it. I've been working pretty steady for about 2 days, and I've got about 100 DVDs burned. The machine constantly jams, partially burns disks, and has been very frustrating and definitely not worth the money I paid. Luckily, I have
8 Macs with DVD burners that I've been manually burning on to complete my project.
I'm using high-end, name-brand DVDs (16X). I haven't had a single bad burn on the Macs, but I have a stack of about 20 bad discs from the Gemini. Needs improvement!
