HORRID! DOWN WITH FELLOWES!.......2003-01-29

Man, I got my self a PDA very recently. Toshiba e740. . .and it being a very costly thingy. . .thought I'd buy a pack of Fellowes WriteRights. My sincere advise - DONT BUY THIS (...). I just burnt (...) bucks man . ..down the drain. It was a traumatic experience.

Pretty Good Overall.......2002-10-27

I bought these and put them on my Visor Deluxe right after I pulled it out of the box. I really wanted to protect the screen of my first ever PDA, especially knowing that I would probably be using who-knows-what (finger, pen cap, etc.) as a pointing device. My first two attempts to put these on ended in frustration because of it either being put on upside-down or with tons of air bubbles. By the third attempt I was getting better.

First of all, these things last far more than a month. I have had my Visor for nearly a year and still have 4 left. And 4 of the others were either excessively abused or I didn't apply them right. I have stretched them up to 4 months at a time and they would still look quite good.

As for screen clarity, there is a small sacrifice there. I never knew what my Visor screen truly looked like until a month when I tried again to use a CompanionLink screen protector and noticed how much clearer the display was. But I took the CompanionLink protector off because my Visor's stylus recognition seemed to greatly suffer and the CompanionLink protector, while clearer, added lines to the display and was otherwise cheap. And the glare with those things on was horrible. I would rather have a slightly fuzzier display with a little less contrast than not be able to read the screen because of glare and annoying lines caused by a cheaper screen protector.

The WriteRights really do improve graffiti recognition and reduce glare significantly. And they do their primary job as a screen protector quite well, too. I still don't have even a single scratch on my screen.

And some tips for applying the screen protector without air bubbles, and this goes for any brand. Of course, make sure that your screen is spotless. Following the instructions on the WriteRights will go a long way, but I found that I just initially align and apply the small portion of screen protector that is exposed at first and just use the card that comes with it to do the entire rest of the process. I move the card forward accross the protector in short strokes to cover both sides of the protector and also peel the protector from its backing just using the motion of the card. Within 30 seconds or so the protector is on the screen completely without air bubbles. I tried this with the CompanionLink protectors with the same results (although those things are still terrible).

I suggest applying the film to the graffiti area only. On my previous PDA's this was the only area of the screen which was scratched eventually. I put one on my new visor three months ago, and it is still fine. By my calculation, at this rate my current supply will last until 2017. A bargain.

Nice but doesn't work for me.......2002-02-19

Got this for my Visor Edge. Fit pretty well and easy to apply. I like the feel of the surface. It does degrade the quality of the display but I think it is worth it. HOWEVER, my Visor Edge crashed whenever I spent a lot of time writing on the screen. Nothing can revive it, I've tried soft and hard resets! Until I peeled the cover off the screen then it comes back to life! So BEWARE before you get this. It may be just down to my Edge.

great for your investment.......2001-08-20

I really liked this product. It takes alot of damage that your screen wont. Putting it on my visor's screen straight and without air bubbles took a few tries, but it prevents my screen from getting biffed up when accidents happen. Some people complain about the clarity of their screens diminishing, which is true to a certain degree, but I didn't buy the visor deluxe for its heart stopping graphics, I bought it for the calendar and contact database.

I can't say anything bad about this product. I've had it for about four years with perfect performance continuously. Even when a severe electrical storm fried the tv, phone answering machine and computer this product survived without a hitch. Haven't read any other reviews yet, but I hope everyone has been as pleased as I am.

It is a very great product, provided that you'v already have the right printer. If you don't maybe don't try this, since it is a little bit outdated. Howerver, you can also try to old printer and this products in combination, if you can find good deal.

This is a wonderful monitor... It competes with the super high end LCD's that cost several thousand dollars. The size is wonderful and the text quality is better than most CRT's. Don't be afraid to purchase this monitor, you'll be happy when you get it!

It's a pretty cool looking monitor and a great value for it's size. It says that it's like a touch screen but I haven't seen this feature. Maybe later. Haven't had problems with this monitor even though we keep it on for a long time.

The major criticism is that operation is difficult. the product has many features but one would have to do major study of the manual to understand all. The price is excellent for what you get as well only rebate was difficult to obtain. I was not able to get rebate.

Super combo monitor!!! (unless you're a graphics artist).......2005-09-19

I purchased this monitor to replace an aging 21" Mitsubishi flat-screen CRT, which my wife used heavily since we bought it over 5 years ago. Although she really liked the size of this screen, she could not make some of the more subtle adjustments she needed to do high-end graphics. Plan B (my Plan A) was that it would end up replacing my nice, but now rather smallish 19" LCD monitor by Sceptre. To appease my wife, I did order a 21.7" Samsung monitor, which has no tuner nor HDTV capability, but offers superior performance as a computer monitor (my wife says it's the best one she's ever seen). For my eyes, the NEC offers very large images and text while also providing a great way to view DVDs and DV recordings. At less than $900 after rebate, this is an outstanding value. You will not be disappointed.
