I Love this Laptop.......2005-12-24

I did a lot of research on laptops and was willing to spend up to $2500 for one. I came across the MX3560 in one of the local stores and really like the look and feel. Very solid and has a beautiful display.

After a couple days of use I have to say this is one nice laptop. I'm getting 3-4 hours on the battery with the WiFi turned on all the time. I play a lot of NeverWinterNights game and get 3 hours with that and some pretty good performance as well. You wont be playing the demanding 3D games like Doom3 but it will work fine for just about anything else.

The A few things I don't like are minor to me but worth mentioning. The speakers are very tinny and don't have much volume. I get better sound from my Pocket PC. However they are serviceable and when I use headphones the sound is perfect with no his or distortion.

The other thing I don't like is the Right Arrow key is not as solid as the rest of the keyboard.

I have used the CD/DVD Burner and have not had any errors its very quiet. The windows Default writer software does not work and you have to use the included Nero software.

This is due to the fact that the drive shows up as 2 writers One as CD writer and one as DVD. Windows XP has issues with a system with two writers unless one is disabled. Not a problem cause the included software works very well.

Couple problems have come up with the card reader. The first is that one of my SD 1gig cards is read only no matter what I do.

The other problems is that Memory Stick cards do not latch into place. You have to manualy hold them in place with one hand while you read or write to the card.

I have contacted Gateway about this problem and the only response I get is to download the driver. A driver that is 2 years old and is the same that ships with the laptop.

I still like the laptop but the gatway service has gone pretty much the same way as others. Poor or non existant.

BTW I wrote this review from my couch with the built-in WiFi

This laptop in my opinion is great. The vivid graphics, and centrino technology really do add alot to this. The only thing that I don't like is the size of the memory but it works out find for me. This laptop is great if you do some mulitasking, alot of time on the internet, as well as photos and video.

A Really Awful Design.......2005-07-31

I continue my search for a good hands-free telephone headset...This isn't it! I bought it along with two others (neither of which was good either) and immediately noted the problem with it. The ear piece is WAY WAY WAY too large for anyone with even a medum sized ear. It is the largest in-ear earpiece I've ever seen on a headset. It is either made for men (and it probably wont' fit some of them either) or people with really large ears. The sound quality is acceptable, but it's hard to tell how well it works because I can barely stuff it into my ear. It's hard to tell how people at the other end hear me either. Save your money on this one.

Fun camera for all ages!.......2003-08-25

I read all the reviews and don't know why people don't think this is a fun camera! I'm a mom with little kids, I have a digital camera, an SLR, a point-n-shoot, a camcorder and now this I-zone - it's just plain fun to have. Oh, and I scrapbook too. This design is sleeker & easier to use than the original model - not so many parts poking out. I spent [money] for the camera at [a local discount store] & 3 pack of regular film is less than [money] there too ([money] more for sticky film.) So for instant photos - that price can't be beat. I used them as party favors at my 4 year old daughter's party - it was a hit! I can see us using it at school or any kid function. Photos are clear, note: instructions say it works best with photos taken 2 to 4 ft away from subject...with the small size of the photo you want it for close-ups anyway. I completely agree with the other reviews from "Neat little camera-April '03 and Fun!!!-Feb '02" I've found accessories (tiny photo album w/clip-on and magnet frames shaped like water splashes, photo key chains)on clearance at Ritz Camera and Wolf Camera stores...more items to go with this cool camera. I recommend getting it & just having some fun!

Neat little camera.......2003-04-18

I bought this camera to take pictures of my toddler. The size of the pictures makes them great for scrapbooking, especially with the sticky film. I also bought this camera for my niece. I think it is great fun to have the instant satisfaction in a compact little photo. The photo quality is pretty good, but I'm still experimenting with indoor photos verses outdoor photos. One feature that I think is great is the flash. You set the flash, and once you take the picture the camera turns off. This is a great way to save the battery. I read some comments that the film is expensive, but at around 5.00 a box you get 12 pics that you don't have to get developed. Seems like a good deal to me.

Not Worth It.......2003-02-22

The Polaroid i-zone camera was definately not worth the money I spent on it. The pictures are so tiny you can barely make out what's in them, plus the film is sooo expensive. If your willing to spend all your money on film then I guess it's an okay camera, but it's not even that much fun to use.

While the camera works fine, the film is so expensive that it is difficult to refill. This is not recommended as a gift, especially for younger people, to whom the ads seem to be aimed.

I took it to prom and it was great to back home and show my parents what we did and what everything looked like. You don't have to wait a long time for the film to develop. It is an easy use camera. I bought this for my wife to use while riding her bike on tours and it works great. Much better than the one she was using.

Pick a different Sangean.......2007-09-06

I've had two types of Sangean radios of this size and I use them to fall asleep at night. I thought this model would be a big improvement over the larger black one, but changing stations is hitting one button and then another button and then if you wait a few seconds, you have to do that all over again.

With the slightly larger black unit, you just push one button to go through every programmed channel in every band, much more convenient. This unit has good sound quality and would be the best unit they ever produced if only they had made the channel surfing a one button deal that was always available instead of button, button, button, button.

Except for the pain in the tuckus channel changing this is an excellent unit, but for me that one annoyance dooms it. Buy a Sangean, just not this particular model.

Also, the older black and very small silver models had a headset jack that broke easily and they have replaced that with a good jack and Sangean offered to trade in the old models with defective headset jacks for newer units of the same style. That was certainly a positive demonstration of good customer service. Anyone can buy a defective part for their production line, not every company will be so ethical as to replace the unit well after the warranty because they found out they had sourced a defective part.

The sounds is really good in both AM & FM. Presets are handy. Would like it to be a little smaller, but it does stay put on my waistband when I run. It has a TV tuner on it, but it doesn't work in my area.

Disappointed.......2007-07-31

Within 5 minutes of trying out my new toy, I was disappointed. I could not pull in more than 3 FM stations and I didn't even bother with the AM band. Thinking that I have too much interference within my house, I took it on a road trip to work with me and still didn't get any reception. After getting the chance to play around with this I also feel that it's very overpriced and you're paying for the Sangean name and nothing more. I have their table radio that is awsome so I figured that their portable would be just as good. I will be returning this item and maybe I'll try the $10 Sony that was very highly rated. For 10 bucks it's worth a try.
