Inside HP has installed a capable processing system comprising a high-performance 2 GHz Intel Pentium 4 processor, 512 MB of DDR SDRAM memory (expandable to 1,024 MB), and a 64 MB ATI Mobility Radeon graphics chip. In simple terms, there isn't much the Pavilion ze5250 can't do.

The unit features an adequate 40 GB hard disk on which to store your programs and files, and a convenient DVD/CD-RW combo drive through which you can burn and play audio CDs, archive data, and watch the latest movies. Its integrated 15-inch XGA TFT display is just slightly larger than average and supports crisp, clean images at 1,024 x 768 resolution. Poor heat design.......2005-04-20

I own a HP5250.
Good side, it is a tough little notebook, no problems with screen or weight.
Poor - This is a long term hunk of junk. The computer heats up and the DVD drive stops working. I explain, the hot part of the computer is the CPU, the processor, in this brand/model, has it in a seperate area for cooling (good idea). The next two hot spots in a notebook/laptop are the CD/DVD drive and the Mem area. These two are on top of each other!! If you use it in Canada, Iceland or Alaska, maybe not a problem. My computer will no longer survive playing a game CD or DVD. If I am working off a data CD, then I better get it off in the first 5 min before it crashes! I was ripped off, I hope you don't get ripped.

A COMPLAINT ABOUT HP.......2003-10-08

Be careful before you buy a HP product. If you have a problem, be sure that it will not be solved by HP.Below is the letter which I sent to HP.

Dear notebook specialist,

I bought this product via internet on February 2003 for my sister.In August 2003, when my sister ran the notebook for the first time, she saw that the battery was not working. The notebook is at another country right now. I have been calling your technical service about one and a half month. On my first call, the employee decided that there was a problem with the battery and told us he would send a new battery to us.I called the technical service for nine or ten times. Everytime, I told my case number and an employee told me that he would take care of it and you must receive it in 3-5 business days. For one and a half month, I only received a power cable which I could not understand the reason that you sent.It is extremely hard to reach you by your technical phone line and almost every night I have been on phone at least for 1 hour.I have decided that there is no good to call you by using your technical phone line again.Briefly, I want to understand whether you will send me a new battery or not. If this problem does not resolve immediately, I am sorry to warn you that I will make an application to the consumer rights. If a satisfactory solution can not be found, I will send this issue as a complaint about your product to the all PC selling web sites.

Never worked properly.......2005-01-22

As stated by another reviewer, the device turns itself off after recording for a few seconds. E-mail to the company resulted in explaining the same info in the manual i.e., how to plug in, switch settings, etc. Concludes that if that doesn't work, it must be the drive belt. I fastened the Play-Record buttons down with rubber bands, and although it tries to turn itself off (clicking away), I have managed to record conversations. Sometimes I find it taping when nothing is going on. Too much of a hassle to send back, I guess I'll keep it while I look for a more reliable machine.

P3 International Telephone recorder.......2004-12-31

It seems like it has the right idea, but the adapter for the telephone jack in the wall didn't work, and the recorder shuts off after about 90 seconds, (you can't record calls longer then 90 seconds without manually restarting the machine). Overall, it's been a hassle so far, and I'm not happy with it. I'm hoping this is only specific to the machine I got, and am hoping the company I got it from will exchange it.

UPDATE: Only after a TON of hassle from the company (who did not want to honor their exchange policy) I finally was able to get a new machine. Which has now also broken. Don't buy this product...and buyer beware if you buy from this seller.

Rewinds faster than common VCRs

You get what you paid for!.......2003-06-20

This is a basic entry level Hi-Fi VCR. I have 3 panasonic VCR and this one was my fourth one.

The worst part was recording as you have to press 2 buttons in order to program recording. When it was recording, a big "REC" showed in the beginning and then replaced by tape meter which could confuse you as you might not realize it was recording. When programming, channels were not defaulted to those you had access but it went from channel 1, 2, 3...ie, it was a bit time consuming to program.

Remote was OK but it was quick enough if you do commercial skipping.

Soundwise, for some reasons, it was better than my hi-fi panasonic even with the same home theatre set up.

Durability wise, I bought mine from Nov 2002 & I broke it in early June 2003 when I tried to clean up the tape head. Something just fell out when I opened it and tried to clean it the 2nd time. I guess it was my fault. The inside of it was made with a lot of plastics which I don't think it would last long anyway. However, it is reasonable if you don't pay more than $ bucks for this unit. Now I have to deal with Toshiba people. Don't know the outcome yet.

Picture quality was good for me as I didn't have any problem like others.

Tracking was better than my 3 other panasonic. It usually found the right tracking for the tapes that we put in.

Noise was reasonable to me and was silent when playing. Rewind was quick as advertised.

It had good feature like showing you titles of TV programs when changing channels and auto clock setting.

not bad but not great either.......2003-04-20

Okay, it was pretty cheap. It functions pretty much as advertised and is not a bad machine for the money. But...some of the functionality is frustrating. I've missed recording a couple of my favorite shows because of the fact that it won't record your programmed shows if you simply power it OFF when you're done using it. You have to remember to power it OFF and set the RECORD button also (this requires pushing 2 buttons on the remote simultaneously). On the plus side, the rewind is extremely fast and the counter display is "clock time" as opposed to just numbers counting up or down. (So if you want to skip a 1-hour segment it is very easy to do.) Overall, this has been a good VCR for the money, with a few minor inconveniences.

It had been awhile since I bought a VCR. I love the auto clockset feature! Also, the cable tuner on this VCR is great and so is the sound quality. I am very happy with it so far. Using an older non cable ready TV with this and the picture looks good..

I have kept a 5-year-old SHARP VCR, which I liked very much until my little boy destroyed it. I could not find a SHARP but someone recommended this Toshiba VCR. Since I always liked my old Toshiba notebook computer and this model was on sale, I did not hesitate to buy this unit. This is not bad for the price. But people in Toshiba VCR must more work on the remote control, which does not work for my SHARP TV. The manual says that it could happen, and then I need to use the TV old remote control! Two remotes! Does not sound friendly or convenient...
