Died after a year.......2006-07-11

Was okay while it lasted, but we bought the monitor in June 2005 and it is now dead (in July 2006). Very disappointing.

The monitor comes on for a few seconds and then goes off. It is exactly what is described in HP's product alert "HP Pavilion f1703 LCD Monitor - Intermittent Video, No Video, No Backlight" except that their replacement only covers monitors manufactured from October 2003 through June 2004. Despite the fact that it appears to be exactly the same problem which they apparently didn't fix in later revisions, they will not replace or repair our monitor, so it is now useless.

For this reason I recommend staying away from this product.

Only lasts 2 years.......2006-04-20

Had this product for 2 years and screen started to turn black from the top of the screen down. Quality is lousy. I have a less expensive brand, smaller monitor that has been in service for 4 years without problems. This is the last HP I ever get for me or my company. Good luck if you have one.

Another flake-out after one year.......2006-02-25

I was amazed when my monitor started shutting off and looked online to find others had the exact same behavior. The monitor was great until 1 year and 17 days. Talk about planned obsolescene! The warranty and the monitor expire at the same time. Fortunately, I bought the extended service plan at Best Buy, so its their problem for now. But, will it die in 3 months after I get it back again?

WARNING PRODUCT IS DEFECTIVE!!!!!.......2006-01-30

Before you buy this piece of junk it would be wise to read the negative reviews. This f1703 monitor has offically been recalled and is a lemon. The monitor works fine for a while but after a year the screen starts blacking out. The screen will turn on then it will repeatidly black out. Do not buy this item,you will be wasting your money!! If you already have one it would be wise to call the service support number and get the f1703 replaced.

A simple 17-inch monitor from HP, the MX70 is a high quality CRT that comes with a number of useful features and an attractive price tag. A maximum non-interlaced resolution of 1,280 x 1,024 and 85 Hz maximum refresh rate (at 1,024 x 768) combine with a 0.27 mm dot pitch to provide detailed images suitable for a wide variety of home and home office uses. The 15.8-inch viewable image has a 90-degree black matrix, P22 medium short persistence phosphor tube, while an anti-glare screen treatment helps cut back on harmful reflections and the resulting eye-strain.

Built-in speaker mounts are provided for use with optional HP Polk audio speakers, while the base has a 60-degree swivel and a 5-degree forward, 15-degree back tilt. 17 Inches is a world a difference.......2003-07-15

I received the mx70 monitor as part of a HP system package purchase and my initial impression (that is, before I turned it on) was that this thing was probably a piece of junk. After all, it was just the "add-in" part of the package and it did have a goofy space age design and one of the notches for the monitor stand was broken out of the box.

Happily however, the mx70 proved me wrong in all respects. The 17 inch display opened a whole new world of picture that I did not get with my previous 15 inch monitor. The colors are quite vivid and the "goofy" space age design actually makes the monitor easier to view as its gray-scale colors do not draw the eye away from the screen.

In addition the menu mode on the monitor is easy to use and has a number of extra features including an advanced features menu as well as an advanced geometry menu that allows the user to change the geometric shape of the display.

Finally, the monitor has an incorporated serviceable microphone at the top of the monitor and whose connection runs along the monitor's connection to the tower.

I would highly recommend this unit.

Great Viewable Area and Resolution.......2002-11-17

I have recently purchased a new computer system: monitor, CPU, printer, and scanner. This monitor was the one I choose to go with my CPU (see my review for the hp753n system) based on the resolution of the display model in my local Circuit City. Vibrant colors and great readability on everything. Also, when watching DVDs on this screen, everything is clear and crisp just slightly smaller than watching on a standard TV:) I highly reccommend this monitor based on price and quality, an A+ model.

Very Nice Monitor.......2003-04-03

I bought this monitor through eBay and I'm pleasantly surprised with it. It has a large viewing area (within reason), handles 3D games and graphics, and has a very easy to use swivel underneath, which to me is a ++. Most monitors that I have used have been very hard to adjust and move, but this one moves VERY easily, and has a wide range of movement. I bought my own Benwin speakers, but as some HP monitors usually do, it comes with speakers slots in the side of it. I can't think of anything that I don't like about this monitor? I prefer a CRT to a LCD anyday because of clarity of picture, so I highly recommend this one.

I installed this in a conference room/film preview room with an Epson 822 and it makes a great combo! All our faculty are trying to book the room now. The center speaker is a bit heavy for the lightweight speaker brackets, but that speaker should be bigger. Very pleased and will purchase again!

Best in Class for Twice the Price.......2007-08-25

I ordered the RM6750 with based on the reviews and it was the best addition to my A/V ever. For $300.00 delivered I expected much less capable speakers. They outperformed my Sony system (which was twice the price)and the subwoofer was awesome. I am planning on a second set for the Master Bedroom. I don't think anybody could go wrong ordering these, they compare with much more expensive speakers.

affordable performance.......2007-05-07

These are very nice speakers for the money. The clarity of sound is outstanding especially on high frequency notes. Only downside to the speakers are low frequency notes, not as robust as I would like it. I still give the speakers 5 stars because the low frequency play is superior for the cost of speakers and more than adequately do the job.

These tiny speakers are simple awesome for music. Even at a high volume not a hint of distortion ! I haven't played much 5.1 surround sound yet to comment about the set's surround capability, but I believe it should be good.

The 6.1 ch stereo is a great option for analog sources.

Great set of speakers, sound is crisp and loud. Bass is deep and have to turn it to low. Running the Sony 800 system. Have a 600' Square room.
