What a step up from th cheap analogs.......2001-03-12

I have been the historical victim of over priced "neat looking" cordless phones that would not let me roam more than 8 ft from the base when my computer was on. My whole world changed when this phone ended up in my lap thanks to my engineering brother who was sick of me putting down the phone 20 times during a long distance call to go get something even though I was on a crdless phone. With this PANASONIC DSS phone, I am not only free to move around my apt, and my apt building but I can also roam about 2/3 of a block away in incredibly dense population without loosing the person on the other end. The sound, compared to everything else I was using, is clear, although it is probably not as wonderful as a land line but is that a big surprise? I think it is worth every penny. I am replacing all the phones at my folks place with this one-gigarange is overated.

Disappointing.......2000-11-19

Well, like all other 900mhz DSS phones I've heard, this one has poor sound quality (I had reason to hope since I own one of Panasonic's excellent 900mhz analog phones). The sidetone isn't as bad as what I've heard in other 900 DSS phones, but it's still there and the sound isn't close to analog. I called my wife as a test, and she said it sound like I was talking in a box. Alas, for those of you wanting a phone with digital security that sounds good, I have no answer. The Panasonic 2.4gig phones sound good, but are apparently not fully secure as they transmit partially in analog... sigh.

Great "no frills" phone.......2000-10-11

I've had this phone for about two weeks now, and so far, I love it. I've had cordless phones in the past with lots of extras like dual keypads and speaker-phones and I never used these features. I don't use caller ID and I have a perfectly good answering machine. All I wanted was a good quality cordless phone that couldn't be easily over heard by neighbors baby monitors. I got just that. This phone has incredible range, excelent sound quality, and great battery life. The DSS gives us peace of mind for security too. The only fault I can find with this phone is the speaker hole for listening. It's very small and is located high up on the handset. Beacause of this, it's easy to let the phone "ride up" while you're talking and it sounds as if the volume is dropping off. Just pay attention to how you hold this phone and you'll be very happy with it!

unreliable hard drive.......2007-03-24

this hard drive has always been quirky...sometimes requiring the power flipped on and off to get it to work. finally it just died on me, taking several years worth of files with it. I should have read the reviews here sooner and backed my files up. This drive was flakey from the start and now it's not much better than a doorstop. I strongly recommend buying a different brand if your files are important to you. yes this drive was inexpensive, but I guess you get what you pay for.

I have two of these Que M3 drives, which I bought at a "big box" electronics store about 4 1/2 years ago. I bought them as additional laptop storage, which means they've traveled all over the country with me numerous times, both in my hand-carried computer bag, and sometimes in my checked baggage as well. I've used them to work with and transfer large numbers of files...they've had a good workout, and the reason I say I must be the lucky one is that I've had absolutely no problems with either of them.

Saw a good deal the other day on a QPS Que! external drive and bought it which was factory-sealed. But it quit working after just 2 weeks, and there was *no* one answering in tech support! Poor product and service. Just not acceptable. (Does anyone know if QPS is based in India??)

I have had no end of trouble with my 60 MB QueM3 drive from QPS. I've never gotten any help from them, either. It finally just died after I got very little use out of it. I have no idea if this drive works with PCs or not, but with my Mac, it has been a great disappointment.
