Great little monitor!.......2003-10-30

I bought the NEC MultiSync 1560 about 7 months ago. I happen to have the white/gray one, not black. This LCD is the best, and a great value. The 15" format is perfectly fine for me.
I am so not disappointed with my purchase! I am a student, so I need some working space on my desk, and this LCD takes very little space on it.
The picture is near perfect. I use Webshots for my wallpaper, and the images render just great. I can almost see myself on that tropical island!!! :) I play games a lot too, they look great.

Gorgeous.......2003-05-27

The word gorgeous applies to both the 1560V's picture quality and exterior styling. I personally prefer this black one, although you might want to check out the gray (white?) one if that's your color. Teh contrast ratio is excellent, and according to a recent PC World research report (and much to my pleasant surprise), NEC-Mitsubishi understates the contrast ratio on their LCD monitors, so you get more than what the manufacturer tells. (Apparently all the South Korean manufacturers overstate their contrast ratio, therefore shortchanging their customers this way.) Even though this is only a 15-inch LCD, the screen feels big due to the black frame. Set-up is a breeze, even for most beginners. And it stands out nicely on your desktop. I've owned another NEC LCD monitor for over 4 years and have had no problem, so I feel confident about the 1560V's quality as well. Very highly recommended. This is the one to get, unless you want the NEC-Mitsubishi 17-inch or larger LCDs. :)

NEC 1560V -- value LCD for tight budget users.......2003-04-22

I compared lot of 15" & 17" LCD at the market, here's some of my suggestions:
1. Don't settle anything less than 400:1 contrast ratio (higher the better)
2. Look for the response time, range is vary, the lower the better
3. NEC & Viewsonic will be my choice...Samsung's quality is not that impressive as some websites described
4. Dead pixel(s), more than 3 is unacceptable, but I will say one is more than enough...(Look at the return policy before you buy) If you can't live with it, you better shop at the local dealers so you can test it before you buy.
5. The quality of this LCD is good for daliy use, you won't disappointed.

Buying LCD thro' web.......2003-04-21

I did the research before I bought this product, my choice finally came up between Viewsonic and NEC. A 17" brand name LCD was cost (at least) 50% more compare with a 15" one; so if you want a LCD with tight budget (like me), NEC 1560V is a solid product at this category and at the right price. Also, don't buy the 1550V since it's the older model with [$] difference. This is not for serious gamers, of course, if you read the spec. careful enough.
Amazon.com offer a even better price after I placed the order [$$$] just few days later at [$$$]....(can I get [$] back?) and I found their (electronic) products' prices change frequently just like seafood market...
The product arrived one week later at good shape, just plug in the power cable & video cable, for a few seconds the screen was on with sharp image automatically. I soon found a dead pixel near the upper left corner -- if this doesn't bother you then everything is fine; since many resellers will not allow you to return because of 1 dead pixel. But for those who ask for a perfect screen, you better go to the local shop, ask the salesperson to pull out the panel & test it before you buy. I bought many of my PC stuffs thro' web, but I felt purchase a LCD thro' web is the most risky one and that's why I will stick with the big name with good return policy.

I had this one in the 32 MG capacity - only held 10 tunes, but I loved it. I now have an MPIO 256 MP3 player w/ 20 FM presets; this was my birthday present, and I love taking this one to Atlantic City with me or anyplace else I may go.

after one year of use i can give you all you need to know about this product:

the good: awesome for runners, lightweight and enough space for about 45-60 minutes of music. has made it through many rain showers without a problem.... although i doubt it is actually water proof. It has also played like a trooper through over 100 degree weather, and below zero too! the arm band makes carrying it easy. sound quality is the best i have heard from an MP3 player

the bad: my biggest problem (which has me considering a different mp3 player) is the fact that normal over the ear headphones will not sound very loud. In order to get decent volume you must use the in-the-ear type of headphones which often fall out and are a hassel when running. Also you will waste countless batteries if you don't have a recharger (which is well worth the money).

conclusion: after one year i am still very happy with it, but the volume could be better. This should only be bought by people who need a lightweight tiny MP3 player,

I realy like the small size of this player. It's a great toy. I bought the player without the usb cable. Ouch! The cable cost me [$$$]. I can barely listen twice the 12 songs I downloaded and I have to change the battery. Don't buy this if you don't have a charger. I wish there was a 128Mb player.

I bought 2 of these after many weeks of reading for my G5 Quad that supports 2 monitors.

Pros: Bright crisp display, looks wonderful

Cons: One has 2 stuck pixels and the other looks as if it has a spick of dirt behind the LCD. Going to try and get replacements.

Misleading claims.......2002-01-16

I didn't even plug this baby in. I ordered it since it stated it was a flat screen. This screen is *not* flat. This screen is just as curved as a non-flat screen monitor is. If these guys think this monitor is flat, they better have their eyes checked.
I sent this monitor back and purchased from circuit city a NEC Multisync FE700+ 17" monitor. Now this is a flat screen monitor.
Bottom line...if you are thinking of buying this monitor because it is a flat screen, then don't buy it.

disappointment!.......2002-04-10

I was very disappointed by the performance of this product. I have used it twice, both with poor results, and it is now being returned. I had difficulty with it playing a few songs, shutting itself off, and refusing to play again without a lot of coaxing. Once I get it started again it will do the same thing. I found it was also tempermental about forwarding to the next song, and on the first time out it was skipping by song #3. It's too bad, because when did work, it seemed like a nice player.

The CD player is great and it has yet to skip, but my major complaint are the headphones. They are so small that I dont see how any male could wear these. They are the perfect size for my 2 year old. Other than that, it is a great buy.

I bought this cd player and the first copy was broken, after I sent it back and fixed that little mess it works great. The sound quality is good, the antiskip time is excelent. The earphones are X-phones which I hate and make the volume WAY to loud. Otherwise a pretty decent product.

Player good, headphones baaaad.......2001-09-24

I bought this player for my car, and that's exactly where it's best suited. The functions are great on it; the bass boost gives a noticable difference in sound, the play modes are great, and it has a play resume function (if you stop playing a cd, when you push play again later, it starts exactly where you left off). It is a very solid player, but the headphones that are included are a cheap rip off of the Sony headphones that go behind your head. These headphones don't fit right on your head, so the ear pieces tend to fall and get uncomfortable, and the band that goes behind your head gets in the way. I can't imagine they would work at all well if you plan to jog while listening to music. Plus, since the earpieces aren't sufficiently pressed against your ears, the sound doesn't sound as good as it could with a better pair of headphones. If you're buying this player for your car, it's a great buy. But if you're looking for a good pair of headphones along with a player, i advise you to look around for a better pair.
