The Panasonic PV-DV900's construction is ultracompact, allowing it to fit easily in one hand. While its 2.5-inch LCD screen is about average in size, we found it to be more than adequate for viewing our scenes. The eyepiece viewfinder is helpful in bright sunlight situations, but because it displays in black-and-white and doesn't swing up for viewing, we mostly used the LCD screen during our testing.

The Panasonic PV-DV900 uses a jog wheel for menu selection, which is easy to use once you get the hang of it. The menu is comprehensive but does require some time with the manual to figure out. The camcorder control layout is intuitive, with the menu, zoom, and record buttons all easily accessible with the hand that holds the camcorder.

The digital image stabilization works well, especially on high zoom modes. The swivel LCD screen is great for taking video above your head or for including yourself in the picture. The eyepiece viewfinder automatically comes on if you swivel the LCD screen to the front, so both the camcorder operator and the subject can see the video.

The Panasonic PV-DV900 uses MiniDV digital tapes, which fit high-quality video into a tiny format. For the scenes we recorded onto the MiniDV tapes, the color was bright and the picture was very sharp. One of the Panasonic PV-DV900's best features is its ability to dub audio onto a prerecorded tape. In addition to being able to replace the original soundtrack with new audio, you can also layer a new soundtrack on top of the old one--a great feature for adding background music or commentary to your movies.

Great camcorder. Discontinued.......2003-04-09

I bought this camcorder in 2000. The price was great at $500. It was a sale to get rid of the 900s before the newer series came out. The camera is basic. The eyepiece doesn't swivel. Which doesn't matter. I usually use the lcd, which drains the battery faster. The screen is 2.5" small but in color. All in all it is a good camcorder. Like the other reviewer, be careful. This camcorder is discontinued so the price has been jacked up.

Good cheap cam with nice features...

Has firewire IEEE1934 interface to interact with the PC. Still shot capability holds up to 700 mid-quality images.

The problem is that the product is not even listed in the Panasonics site oficially, it's been missing between DV800 and DV950 models ( and 910 misses too ). But actually the info exists in the site when you edit the http address and replace the "950" with the "900". I couldn't confirm any problem with the 900 & 910 series but some dealers stopped to sells these models too.

So, go for the 950 which is lot more expensive but a real professional model or stick with the 800 one...

Great Camera.......2000-03-11

There are many different dv camcorders out there for all kinds of budgets. My budget was no too large for my dv purchase, so I shopped around and found the panasonic. I had read both positive and some luke warm reviews of the pv-dv900, but decided to go for it. I am so glad that i did.

I am not a videophile, but the picture and sound i get out of this camera are amazing. It is still better than my old vhs-c camcorder after I dub onto VHS. It is awesome. Haven't installed my IEEE 1394 card yet, so I am not sure about vid capture.

The other reviewer is right about the few differences between the 900 and the 910. The 900 doe not come with the $40 light or the $30 remote control nor does it come with a blank video tape (that seemed kinda cheap to me). The 910 has a color viewfinder and a 3" LCD versus the 900's b/w viewfinder and 2.5" LCD.

I reccomend this camera very highly.

Very good budget DV camcorder.......2000-02-24

The Panasonic pv-dv900 is a very basic DV camcorder. It uses the mini-dv cassette which is supported by many and is probably better in the long run than Sony's Digital 8 which uses standard 8mm for Digital 8 recorders. The picture quality on the Panasonic pv-dv900 is very good. When I first purchased this camera, I tried it out using a JVC mini dv tape and the picture quality really looked bad, then somehow like overnight, it cleared itself up. Its basically the same as the pv-dv910 by Panasonic, except for the fact that it doesn't come with a light, remote and the viewfinder doesn't move up or down. It does have close to a 2" viewable color display on the LCD. The viewfinder (not the LCD) itself is black and white, so its better to use the LCD color display when recording. You can purchase a light or remote seperately. The battery time is about 1 hour and a half. The charging time is close to an hour or a little less. You can ofcourse transfer your mini dv recording to standard VHS using the supplied video cables. It's also IEEE 1394 pc interface compatible but it doesn't come with the supplied cables.

You can also use this DV camcorder to capture still digital images on your mini-dv tape.

Not such a bad camera. If your looking for some basic mini-DV camcorder then this is probably just for you.

Great basics!.......2002-09-25

This is my second electronic organizer. The first, a Psion, was fancier, with a touch screen, more memory, and much fancier OS. But it's downfall was that it used a NiMh battery, which was non-replaceable, and wouldn't hold a charge within about 6 months. The Sharp uses AA alkalines. I'm still on my first set after a month; no recharges, no hassles.

The Sharp was very easy to learn. It can store all the different types of files the Psion did albeit in a simpler OS manner, has plenty of memory although its just 3 MB, and the keyboard is very large compared to anything else that expensive PDA's are offering. It's backlight is a joy, and it's been 100% reliable. What's not to love?

I have been searching for a small organizer, something simple to keep addresses, appointments, etc. This organizer was just what I needed - also has plenty of memory and dowloading from Outlook was very simple.

So far this product has met my expectations. MyWizard.com downloads are okay but could have more content. For those on Windows 2000 platform the free Outlook sync software thru Rupplynx does not work well for syncing addresses...you'll have to purchase upgraded version of 6.1. So they say...I haven't tried it yet. But otherwise, sync to Outlook calendar is good, and download from mywizard.com works great--just wish there were better content.

Great little machine!!.......2002-01-03

I am a full time worker 40 hrs a week,a mom,a wife,and most recently back to college-full time!! I have a VERY full plate!! This organizer is the best!! I received this as a gift from my hubby, and it has been VERY helpful. Before I had the Sharp I had sticky notes, pieces of paper all over the place. I would forget ALOT of things!! Now it's all in one place. And I can type notes for myself, reminders for b-day's, phone#'s, test day's, exam's, reports due etc..... It is a god send this great little machine!! I had seen a Palm where I work, several people have them, and I didn't like that u couldnt type. This is great, with the keyboard.Can't say enough good things about the sharp only that everyone should have one!! Those are the PRO"S- CON"S Only that it is in one color, and the shape is a little odd, but fit's fine in a purse, or book bag.

The Keyboard is Everything.......2001-12-21

I bought the Sharp for its keyboard. I have a PocketPC and it is a cool gadget, but it doesn't have a keyboard and the add-on keyboards for the PocketPC are not practical for using on anything but a desk. I take notes on the go all the time and it is just not practical on the Palm or PocketPC. The OZ-770s keyboard is suprisingly functional while remaining small and light enough for your pocket. I was suprised with the extras too. It has a nice set of organizer programs and you can download other programs from mywizard.com as well. I'd recommend it for people who take more detailed notes as opposed to mainly look up phone numbers and appointments.

This camcorder is very decent for the money. It does the job well, its functional and captures nice looking footage-in good light. In anything less than perfect light this thing does not capture very good stuff. The battery quite frankly stinks. I've been using it constantly for two years and it served me well. All in all it works well and performs decently.

Disappointed.......2005-12-28

I was so excited on Christmas morning when I got a new Camcorder, It was my daughters first Christmas where she would be able to open her own presents, and the camera was not what I expected, it was very grainy and did not focus very well. In a low lit room you could not make out who were recording, I was trying to video people in the room and if there were two or more people in the shot it would only try to focus (and not very well) on one person.

I will be returning this camera and hopefully getting a better one)

Great phone, one small issue.......2005-03-14

This phone is great with one exception. 2.4 Ghz phones interfer with most wireless computer networks. Currently I have a 900Mhz Uniden Spread Spectrum that doesn't kick me off of my computer network. When I use this phone, I get booted. That's really the only issue I have, but that would be an issue with any 2.4 Ghz phone.

As far as the phone goes, it has the features I was looking for. I frequently get called in the middle of the night, so I wanted a phone that stood on-end and had the keys light up when it rang so I could see it in the dark. I also wanted caller I.D. on the handset, a good dialing memory, something small to fit on my nightstand, and an external headphone jack. Now you'd think that with those requirements finding a phone would be easy. Ha! This was the ONLY phone I could find that met those requirements. It has satisfied all of them quite nicely. Also, my other phone is a Uniden and I've been using it for 6 years and love it (I had to replace the battery once). In the past I've had problems with AT&T phones and Panasonic ones. When I purchased this phone, my girlfriend was looking to buy one too. In the end, she tried and returned multiple ones and ended up getting this one with the answering machine. All this happened without either of us knowing what phone the other one purchased. She's very happy with her phone too.

Excellent Product.......2004-07-01

I have had this phone for years with no problems at all. Love it 100%. The handset is very comfortable and easy to use. I recently bought a second one and wish I had bought a third one. Unfortunately Uniden no longer makes these phones. Uniden made a big mistake by stopping production. I have not found another phone by any manufacturer like this one, not even Uniden's new phones. These phones have batteries that require that they be returned to the base regulary, not necessarily after every call, but DO NOT leave it off until the battery goes dead. If you do the battery will not last very long. Most problems can probably be linked to this issue.

Not Good.......2004-06-02

Had the phone for a little over 1 year and the unit just stopped working. Was a good phone until then, just cannot believe the short life it had. The unit does not get a dial tone and talk keeps flashing on the LED. Tried their online support and they had me do this and that stating it would correct the issue; however, it still remains broken. This is the only phone I have had that only lasted a little over a year. I suggest you buy a different brand phone that will last longer than this one.

A waste of good money........2003-11-18

I owned this phone for a whole 7 MONTHS before it just quit working for no apparent reason. Up to that point, I was very happy with it. I have been a fairly consitent Uniden customer, but this phone wasted my money.

It seems to be a great phone but after a year the keypad stops working and you cant dial anyones number. I am not the only one who has had this problem and if you read other reviews you will see many people with the same problem. DONT BUY THIS PHONE.
