Amazing Price for a Japanese 3CCD DV Camcorder.......2007-03-08
Paid well under $600 after shipping and haven't discovered all of its features but it is a lot of camera for the money. Some of the controls are typically Japanese - meaning they are sometimes obscure and the controls themselves are made for rather small fingers/hands. Overall, the camera is light, takes marvelous video (given adequate light). Most 3CCD cameras seem to require a bit more light to look good than the std. single CCD cameras. Wish it could shoot video in 1080i but oh well...
No 3.1Mpixel.......2007-02-16
Just the camera is 3.1 Mpixel and I have a Nokia N70 mobilephone with the same quality picture, but the 1Mpixel camecorder are very nice. Dont buy these camecorder for the camera, and the battery durantion are very good.

I bought this for my trip to India. It i so simple to use and the joystick feature for the umns is a breeze to get a hang of. I did not like the idea of having to touch the screen to do everything with the Sony's. I wanted the Canon Elura 100 but the idea of a noisy camera turned me off.
Like the other guy said, buy the tapes online because they are pricey in the store.
Great Camcorder.......2007-02-08
Bought this camcorder for christmas to film my little baby boy. I send dvds to my relatives who live far away and they love the picture quality. All of my friends who own camcorders agree the picure is very sharp. The camcorder is easy to use and comes with everything you need to get going except minidv tapes. Buy these with your online purchase because they are too expensive in stores. The only complaint I have would be the low light recording quality. It is only average(all camcorders are bad in low light). The camera does have a low light feature, but it produces tracers and ghosting with fast moving objects. The camera does have full manual control that will help with the image, but you need to learn camera jargon and take time to adjust before the shot. You can buy a mountable light to put on the camera, but they are not cheap. If you want a camera with good low light features, buy a sony. I'm am very pleased with this camera and would recomend it to a friend who does not shoot at night.
Great camcorder.......2007-01-15
This is my first camcorder, therefore I can't really compare to previous experiences. Regardless I really like this product, it's is relevantly small, very easy to control and the manus are pretty easy to manipulate. I haven't done any outdoors shots yet, but I was impressed by the low light performance. The colors where decently preserved, even though you can see some granularity (which I understand is normal) the picture was great (I was watching it on 720dpi HDTV). Way above my expectations. As I read in some reviews I would agree that the 3.2 mega pixels still shot is a nice feature, but by no means it's replacement of you digital camera. The software coming with it it's by now means friendly or feature rich and if you need to burn DVDs you would need to acquire AVI to DVD conversion software (I really liked Nero Vision, but you can get free once as Video DVD Maker).

This advanced graphing calculator is packed with more features than you might know how to use. The TI-89 lets you perform the expected functions of an advanced calculator--basic math, algebra, calculus, graphs, matrices, and statistical functions. However, you can also do cool stuff like create animations as well as graph 3-D rotations and plot contours.
The manual that ships with the TI-89 is a killer, presenting over 500 pages of clear, concise definitions, function explanations, examples, drawings, and appendices. It's divided into well-organized chapters that cover all the major features of the calculator. Graphing functions include basic function graphing, parametric graphing, polar graphing, sequence graphing, 3-D graphing, and differential-equation graphing. Additionally, the TI-89 includes symbolic manipulation, constants and measurement units, statistics and data plots, a numeric solver, a text editor, programming capabilities, tables, a split-screen function, variable management, and the ability to link to other calculators or a computer.
The large, color-coded keys are easy to read and find--a nice touch on such a feature-heavy calculator. An improvement over earlier Texas Instruments graphing calculators is the addition of one-touch X, Y, and Z variable keys. The large LCD screen is also adjustable to your environment; we were able to view it clearly in a variety of lighting. The TI-89 comes with an attached, hard slide cover that protects it from getting knocked around in a backpack.
The TI-89's flash technology allows you to upgrade to future software versions so you don't have to continually invest in new calculators. The whopping 500 K of memory is more than sufficient for your stored functions, programs, and data. You can also create custom menus or use the default menu. Another cool feature is the Program Editor, which gives you the ability to program. be careful what you wish for..........2007-08-23
The shipping and handling were fine - it arrived in good condition and didn't take too long. The price was awesome. The problem was when I got to class. Everybody (even the teacher) only knew about the 83/84's. That's a major problem when the instructor is teaching his method by using the calculator in class and you need to keep up with everyone else. You can get lost quickly and noone will find you.

I received the TI-89 in excellent condition and with speedy delivery. The TI-89 is a great product but I like the TI-83 better.
Old TI-89 Calculator.......2007-08-21
This calculator is the best TI-89 Calculator ever! I have used it in the past during High School for AP classes including Physics, Chemistry, Geometry, Algebra, and Pre-Calculous and remembered how much I liked it. Recently I was wanting it for equations I was developing for Forex investing. You can only find the newer TI-89 Titanium in stores, which has the same buttons and functionality except for the increased memory and USB port. However, I love the old classical design with the larger more practical buttons and print colors reminiscent of older TI calculator models. The price isn't bad either. I think that it is tragic that they have discontinued this model, but am glad that it is still being sold new.
