A lot of bang for the buck.......2007-06-04

I bought a Westinghouse LTV-32w6 HD on sale at Best Buy one week ago for $599. The display at Best Buy had a wall of lcd tvs, so it was easy to compare picture quality. With the money I saved, I bought the extended warranty 4 yrs for $99, inasmuch as big-screen lcds are a relatively new technology and their long-term failure rate is not known. (The manufacturer's warranty is one year parts and labor). Also, the unit is light and easy to move around.

The picture is great. The sound is good. The set works great. I've had no problems setting it up, and I am not a sophisticated user of electronic equipment. I recommend this set without reservation. If you get it home and don't like it within 30 days of purchase, Best Buy will take it back and give you a full refund.

Phenomenal ATSC Tuner.......2007-03-30

Bought a Westinghouse LTV-32w6 HD at Best Buy for $699 last Christmas and have been very impressed with it. I live in a fringe area (50 miles from NY or Phily) and have always had to jump through hoops to get a watch-able analog picture. I don't know what kind of tuner Westinghouse installed, but the digital picture that this HDTV pulls in is nothing short of phenomenal. No glitches, rock solid. There is one minor problem with this set though, it tends to lock up if switching through channels too fast. Hence the 4 stars.

I purchased this TV as a Christmas present for my husband. He loved it, but now - only two months later - 1/2 the screen is black. After talking to customer support, I had to wait 5 days just to get an RMA number to ship our tv from Michigan to California (the closest repair facility) at a cost of $104.00 to me. It will now take another 3 - 4 weeks to repair and return the tv to me. I am thoroughly disgusted at Westinghouse and how they stand behind their products. I understand they have a "Standard Warranty", but it sure seems to me that if a television breaks after only 2 months, there should be some give in that warranty. I would never recommend this product or any Westinghouse product to a person now.

Warning - no repair parts available.......2007-09-07

I purchased a Westinghouse TV and one day it would not power on. I took it to a trusted repair shop who would not look at it because they said you can't get parts for ANY Westinghouse TVs. They did verify the power supply worked. Called Westinghouse to get it repaired. They won't repair it because they decided it has been out of warranty for 50 wks, though I haven't had the TV for 2 years. I offered to pay for the repair, but they won't let me ship it because it might get damaged. If it were under warranty, it could be shipped, go figure. I'm taking the repair shops advice and not purchasing another Westinghouse.

Problem with autoprogramming the channels.......2007-06-22

I can't say anything bad about the picture quality but autoprogramming the channels was a nightmare. Apparently I must have gotten a bad model because I haven't read anything about anyone else having a problem with the autoprogramming. When I started the autoprogramming to scan for all the channels it ran just fine at first. It loaded the channel numbers and then it started going through and loading the digital channels. The progress bar got to 84% and then froze. Ten hours later it was still frozen. I couldn't exit out of the autoprogramming mode so I simply had to turn the tv off. When I turned the tv back on I could pick up 10 stations, all analog. I ran the autoprogramming again and it got stuck at 84% completion again. This time I turned it off immediately and when I turned it back on I could pick about 40 stations. That still wasn't enough and besides, the digital stations were still missing. I ran it a third time and was only able to pick up 20 stations. It didn't matter how long I left the tv on when it got stuck at the 84% mark. The number of stations the tv could pick up was totally random. I thought maybe it was my cable service but that tested out okay. Finally I thought I wonder what would happen if I turned the tv off before it got to the 84% completion mark? I started the autoprogramming, once again, and as soon as it got to 83% I turned off the tv. I turned the tv back on and lo and behold all the stations were there, even the digital ones. I'm thinking there's a software error in the chip that runs the autoprogramming. When the autoprogramming reaches the 84% mark it apparently gets stuck in an endless loop and is unable to complete the autoprogramming automatically.

Appalling Customer Service.......2007-02-14

Never buy a product from Westinghouse Digital. I purchased a laptop from them and it arrived with major hardware problems. Upon discovering the problem with my computer, I attempted to obtain an RMA number and my call was NEVER returned. Without this number you cannot get anything serviced. After I called 3 times over the period of two weeks, someone finally told me the number and the address. They received my package on January 9, and I have not heard a single thing since then (February 13). Furthermore, everytime I have called to inquire, I have been on hold for an unacceptably long period, and when my call was finally answered, the response was that they knew nothing and would get back to me, which never happened. I have been without my computer for a month and a half now, with no end in sight. It is a gamble to purchase any product from this company, since any factory defect may lead you to lose complete track of your property and spend countless hours on hold and listening to excuses.

I did not have a ton of money to drop on a television, but desperately wanted to play my PS3 in high def, and wanted a larger screen to play my Wii on. If the price tag on this TV scares you, fear not. This is the best bang for the buck television money can buy. I have had no problems with anything on this television, and the picture quality is great. I receive compliments on my television on a regular basis. If you are feeling apprehensive, just give in and buy this, you wont regret it.

Worst TV ever!.......2006-12-29

I bought a Westinghouse LCD TV from Best Buy and it did not work from the first day. The picture froze after 30 minutes. It would not turn on without being unplugged and plugged back in. The picture quality was awsome while it was on though. I bought a Best Buy 4 year service plan and they could not find parts for this TV to service it. I returned it for a refund and Best Buy did not refund the full amount of purchase, even within 30 days! Do not buy this TV!

I feel I must respond to the other,bizarre review of the RX77. I am using the unit now with 2 speakers and find it to be one of the best,unadorned stereo receivers around. The sound on any of my cds is full and detailed. I listen mostly to classical,opera, Broadway and jazz and have been very satisfied with the sound.There is a direct switch, but I prefer to leave it off so that I can regulate the bass. There is no Dolby, Pro Logic etc. on the unit, but for simple stereo this 100 watts per channel is hard to beat.Not made anymore, used units are available on Ebay.Check Google etc. for reviews and dealers. Worth $300.00 orless for the sheer sound and simplicity of the unit.Free manuals can be downloaded from Yamaha Canada [not U.S.] through Google.Stereophiles rejoice.

Buying a console TV through the internet.......2003-04-12

I ordered this model as a birthday gift for my mother. After trying to find the right TV that she would like, I could not find a better deal than this one. Not only was the price right, I was astounded when I learned that this unit qualified for free shipping. After waiting about a little over a week for the delivery I became nervous about buying it over the internet and not seeing it in person. I'm used to buying something in a store and taking it home in the same day. This transaction went very smoothtly. The box was not damaged and the carrier people were very helpful in setting up a time for me to be home to recieve it. Everything went perfect and this TV is worth buying if you are looking for a good deal. The picture and sound is very good and there are plenty of settings built in to satisfy almost anyone. I would reccomend buying from Amazon.com and feel safe about the shipping process with Eagle Transportation. Not only am I pleased but my mother had a very happy birthday with her new Zenith TV. Zenith TVs are Outstanding Trouble-Free!.......2003-01-10

Zenith is the most reliable, trouble-free TV I have ever owned. This is my 3rd Zenith in a row. It replaced my 20 year old one which cost "Zero" in repairs and still works, but doesn't have the stereo and flat panel screen look I wanted.
